I think perhaps one could consider some sugar content in water for cut flowers. But for many reasons: just use plain water. In a potted plant sugar would most likely just attract bugs and create sticky and nasty leftovers on roots and in the soil.

pla;in water can enter into plant cells through osmosis.sugar water removes water from plant parts with ex osmosis.so only water is needed for plants growth

I've heard that catching rain water in pails, is the best water metheod, for healthy plants.
