James 3:11-12
Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.
To the, so called, "gay christian" or the "christian abortionist" impostors who go against the Word of God and think that they will be excused on the last day. I give this caveat...
Revelation 21:8
"But the... murderers, sexually immoral, ...and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

First, you cannot be a gay Christian. The Bible expressly forbids such conduct. Though I will allow that one might be a non-practicing gay as there are those that are recovering alcoholics or drug users or even those that desire more than one partner. Also it will be up to God on the day of Judgment to say who served him faithfully.
Finally, I cannot in any way shape or form see a Christian Abortionist. How can you take a life that God has allowed to be concieved and snuff it out as you would an infection. There is no way in my mind that I can see how they could justify the slaughter of innocence. You are right another translation says this.
Matthew 19:14 (New International Version)
14Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Well, I'm not a Christian nor do I support abortion, but the god of the Old Testament really doesn't seem to care too much for children:
2 Kings 8:12: dash their children, and rip up their women with child. 2 Kings 15:16: all the women therein that were with child he ripped up. Isaiah 13:16: Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled and their wives ravished. Isaiah 13:18: They shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children. Ezekiel 9:6: Slay utterly old and young, both maids and little children. Numbers 31:17: Now therefore kill every male among the little ones. Deuteronomy 2:34: utterly destroyed the men and the women and the little ones. I Samuel 15:3: slay both man and woman, infant and suckling. Hosea 9:14: give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts. Hosea 13:16 their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
In 2 Kings 2:23-24, Yahweh sends a bear to mull 42 children to death for simply teasing a prophet.

A person may be a Christian because he is baptized.
At the same time, that Christian can be an abortionist. But by being an abortionist, he commits the grave sin of murder.
If this is done intentionally and with full knowledge, that Christian risks going to Hell.

A Christian is a Human and All Humans committed Sin. So, being a Christian is being a Sinner ANDDDDDD have admitted it to the Lord, and have asked frogiveness. But if you're doing continous Abortion thing or any sinful act , and you call yourself a Christian, You got a big problem Bro. Maybe you've never been a Christian before. Where's the Conscience? You must have been carrying that when you claim your a Christian!

Read Numbers 31, where God commands that all the Midianites be killed, including babies and children (except for the virgin girls), then tell me that God cares if Christians have abortions. How much you wanna bet that many of the girls having abortions come from Christian homes where the parents would be embarrassed if the church found out their good little girl was pregnant out of wedlock, so they send her to a clinic? 85% of Americans claim to be Christians, so it stands to reason that the abortion clinics are filled with them. Being a Christian means that you can do anything you want as long as you ask Jesus for forgiveness afterwards.

If you know what is expected by the faith and you do things that are completely against the faith. What is your faith based on?
Do you pick and chose the points you want to keep and throw away the ones that bother you?
Well it comes down to a choice, claim what you like, live what you want, but it is not based on what you or I think but what God Commands.
Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.
But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.
If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.
The Good Person Test.
How will you do? Pass or fail?
Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?
Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?
Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?
Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?
See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?
If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.
Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.
The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.

Even conservative Christians are not necessarily pro-lifers. Many of them choose that dogma but it is not directly supported by the bible.
Protestants (Christians) believe that there is nothing wrong with birth control. The US was founded in part by the Pilgrims who were Protestants, and in favor of literacy and education. It was part of what got them thrown out of England.
Catholics and other non-Protestant Christians are the ones that are violently against abortion. It makes sense that a religion that is against birth control would proliferate out of control. Just because they are breeding faster does not make them better, but it does make them more numerous.
But even Catholics are relaxing their some of their attitudes about birth control. They used to consider wet dreams sinful because the involuntary ejaculation was the death (abortion) of potential babies. They also used to be so obsessive about preserving every potential baby that they considered masturbation a sin just short of murder. Thankfully these attitudes are changing.

I think that it would be a difficult logical position to hold, but I would say it is theoretically possible, if after a thorough searching of Scripture, and proably a disregarding of some of the phrases, that you can hold to both.
Again, I did not say it was an easy position to defend, just that it may be logically possible to arrive at the conclusion.
Also, the Bible does recognize the power to the Government, but that does not mean that an individual must agree with the decision of the government, but should behave respectfully and raise the issues.

In my opinion, no. But that's merely my opinion.
I used to believe that abortion was fine and that it wasn't really "life" being destroyed so therefore it was not morally wrong. As one grows in experience, particularly after having children, I think that it becomes more difficult to cling to that fabricated fiction.
The point is trying to determine where "life" truly begins. We call a single celled organism "life" and spend billions of dollars to find it on Mars, but we struggle to call a multiple celled organism, that is growing, that feels and reacts to the most basic stimuli in the woman's womb life. This seems particularly odd to me.
I have come to conclude that "life" must begin at conception. If that fetus/organism is life, then it is a sin to take that life without justification. (Justification is an entirely different topic all its own.)
My two cents.
