Why do so many continue to practice these things?

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers---will inherit the kingdom of God."
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

People don't care about anyone but themselves anymore. They disregard morals as being out of date.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 points out that men (and women) would be lovers of themselves and money. Lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.

They look for self gratification.

To get any reality to that question/statement you need to get the proper definition of the words. Adultery as a word is 400 years old. For 300 of those years it meant molesting children. Only in the last 100 years did it mean having sex outside of marriage. What was the latin word it was taken from and what did that word mean. What greek word and definition was that taken from. Then Hebrew and Aramaic and then just the verbal language. If you can go back 5000 years and determine what the word meant when it was first used then you can determine what they were talking about when they said that in the bible. The other words have different meanings also. You spew forth some garbage and expect all of us to buy it because "you know" what it means. But then you really don't.

Wow you really must be something. Wheres your so called compassion that religious people supposedly have? Why do you feel the need to judge others? Do you honestly think you can get into heaven with that attitude? Do you know why you say what you say? Because you haven't done any of those things. Since you've been strong enough to resist the temptation to do those things, you have to come down on everyone else? Let me give you a little experiment. Go out and have a one night stand, I guarantee you that after you are finished your ideas and opinions will change.

I don't know. Go ask some of the Ministers who got caught doing those things. Like Jim Bakker.

They always cry "I'm only human" and everyone says "God forgives."

If that's the case, what's the use of religion! I mean active churchs. We are forgiven and can do as we please becuse God Loves Us and Jesus Forgives.

Hey, what about NO FAULT DIVORCE.

That's a slap in Jesus face you know. You didn't include that in your list.

Jesus says if you get a divorce for no reason you face being an adulterer.

You forgot verse 11

11 And such were some of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

once you turn away from these things you are washed. Paul was talking to Christians here. Many of them lived sinful lives but turned their lives around. We all have this hope, that we can turn our lives around a be saved.

I was once one of the unrighteous, a fornicator, idolater, and adulterer. We can all be saved if we turn from our sinful nature. This doesnt make me perfect by any means. i screw up daily, but I know that I have forgiveness when I make mistakes (not willful neglegence)

Paul makes use of the be conscious "Arsenokoitai", which isn't latest in any extant Greek writings till the 2d century whilst it curiously potential "pederast", a corrupter of boys, and returned in the 6th century whilst that's used for husbands training anal intercourse with their different halves. "Arsenokoitai" is created from 2 areas: "arsen" potential "guy"; "koitai" potential "beds." besides the reality that the be conscious in English Bibles is interpreted as bearing on homosexuals, we are able to be particularly particular that this isn't any longer the using fact of this Paul needed to place across. If he had, he might have used the be conscious "paiderasste." That become the common Greek term on the time for sexual habit between men. we are able to end that he probably meant something diverse than people who engaged in male-male grownup sexual habit. some pupils think of probably the 2d century use might come closest to Paul's purpose. if so, there is no justification for translating the be conscious as "homosexuals."

Isn't it strange how Christians ignore that passage whenever their pastor is caught fondling boys, dealing drugs, or stealing money from the church? EVERY TIME that happens, the church members always fully support their pastor, no matter what heinous crime he is guilty of, totally ignoring that he's going to hell. Meanwhile, the person who was wronged--usually one or more children--is treated like the guilty party.

Geez, Im not sure - perhaps we should ask the Christian Republicans who are running for President: Guliani - three times divorced, now married to the last woman he had an affair with on his last wife... Newt Gingrich - three times married, admitted recently to having affair with his current wife while married to his last wife (has he and Guliani been trading game plans?) John Mcain - twice married.

Yup - Christian politicians are doing their best to promote the sanctity of marriage, are they not? So keep voting them into office so they dont allow those nasty gays the priveledge to marry and then cheat on their spouses...

All sin can be forgiven but this searves as yet another example of what sin is. People are under the impression that they are good enough to enter heaven on their own despite their behavior.

If my father and mother told me I'd inherit a billion dollars when they died, I'd still not start planning my future on those billion dollars until I personally saw that my parents had a billion dollars to will to me.

Do you have proof that there is a deity and that he has a kingdom? If not, why should I believe in either?
