it sounds good to christians because of the late ottoman symbol of the star and the crescent which has been connected with Islam. However, the Qur'an clearly says:
And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him. [Quran 41:37]
"And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."[112:4]
Some historians dug up some idols that they 'want' to connect with Allah, even though they have no proof of it whatsoever.

Maybe because of the moon and the star picture on some Muslim countries' flags. And it's not only Christians but atheists say this more.
