I've had this problem for a few years, and it happened once in a blue moon, now its all the time. My hand aches constanly-- the palm of my hand, where my knuckles are and the bottom where the fleshy heel of my hand is. Sometimes when I grip things (pen, brush, sponge) my hand will freeze and stay like that for about a minute, the pain is unbearable. Sometimes I can catch myself before it freezes and flex my hand, sometimes it creeps up on me by surprise. What is wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks

Sounds like Carpul Tunnel Syndrome. My husband had the EXACT symptoms and had to go to the doc, (I was in there with him cause he never asks questions or tells all his symptoms to the doctor) and he was diagnosed with Carpul Tunnel Syndrome. Sometimes the symptoms can be alleviated by stopping whatever is causing it, i.e., excessive computer use, or maybe something you're doing on the job, or, you may need to get surgery. Hope everything works out for you. In the meantime, I assume you're taking pain meds. Good luck.

you may have a mild form of arthritis or an injury that was left untreated maybe you fell and didn't realized the extent of the damage you did when you fell, what kind of work do you do?because if you use your hand and flex you wrist repeatedly,There is a condition call copalturnal i may not have spelled that right but it is a nerve condition.

It may be a simple muscle cramp trigerred by frequent use of that muscle.

However, it may also be something more serious that could be disrupting the nerve.

Tell your doctor immediately. No problem is too small.

Does it hurt in the wrist? f not it's not Carpal tunnel. It may be a pinched nerve in your spine that is causing this.
