after you have had registered for the 100 times with all the do-not-call-list, and ask them not to call your phone anymore, there is only one more thing to do.....and that is, get yourself a callerID manager...its the best investment I've ever made...it's kinda pricey, but I go it on sale with free shipping....there are 3 websites......

Look up the National Donot Call List on the web. It will give you specific instructions regarding what is needed to make this happen. It's good for 5 yrs. I THINK--I'm not sure about the length of time. FYI: Some organizations such as police and government-oriented places are exempt. It's a rule. If you change your number(s), you MUST re-register again.

Go to the Telephone Preferance Service website and register your phone number there,it takes a few weeks to be fully active but after that it is very effective. There is also a Mail preference website so you can stop junk mail. Good luck I know how annoying this can be.

go to tps - telephone preference service and register. That should stop all nuisance calls. For junk mail - mps - mail preference service. I don't remember the web address. just google that.

Its the junk through the door I can't stand. That's for the recycling bin.

The Telephone Preference Service is brilliant. It's free and effective, and if sales calls are made after you have registered with the TPS it becomes an offence. (And they're quite offensive anyway!).

A good way to amuse yourself with these callers is to try to sell them something!

I always listen and say "yes" for a couple of seconds then i interrupt them and say "Can you hold on for a sec..there's someone at the door". I then leave it for a about 5 minutes and check to see if they are still on the line. Sometimes you hear them talking amongst themselves and it aint alf funny. Sometimes they even say naughty things about you and its at the point you come back on the phone and say "I Heard that...how very dare you"

answer the phone and leave them talking to themselves. they cant call anyone else untill you hang up because its not disconected from you. leave the phone off the hook for an hour they wont ring again and it will be costing them money. or you could call the service that Alf.. E said. not as much fun though.

Go to www.donotcall.org and add your number.
Telemarketers can not call you for 5 years after you enter your number. Companies that have you as a customer (credit cards) or non profit organizations can still call you.

Good Luck!

Also, get call display and only answer the callers you know and trust. You need to wait for two rings so that the caller will display.
