I have a chronic disease called Ulcerative Colitis. I am under medical care and I'm actually free of symptoms for 2 years now.
My problem is that I have constipation and my abdomen is always inflated. I empty my bowels only once a week! Please help me to have a flat stomach again

Have you ever had a food allergy test done? They are called IgE allergy tests. They are very detailed and could possible put an end to your UC if you eliminate the foods causing the problem. Conventional med. doesn't always believe this, remember they don't make money if you don't come back.

My first suggestions is to eliminate all foods containing any preservatives, MSG and the like, all white flour and white sugar (these things are not white in nature and are bleached and processed so they look pretty enought to eat). Eat only whole grain foods natural/organic if at all possible. Make sure you drink plenty of purified or distilled water to keep your system cleansing itself. You must take an acidophillus complex that returns the necessary benefical bacteria that your body needs. Go to a good health food store and ask for a good acidophilus complex, pb8, enyzematic therapies, are a couple good ones. Aloe is also great for ulcers - buy a good pure juice and drink it every day - like it or not it will help and there is plenty of proven records that aloe is beneficial for ulcers (Purity Products makes a good juice - bitter, but put it in a juice or down it like a shot - don't savor it's not necessary). Colloidial Silver won't hurt it's a natural antibiotic instead of pharmeceuticals they kill it all..... not selective.

Look in Perscriptions for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis Balch 4th edition lots of valuable info...

Recommendations have always worked for me and there's lots more info there then I can put here. Available at Health Food Stores & book store.

Good Luck,

Boy, I really feel for you.I have the same problems. Once a week is NOT NORMAL. Your stool dehydrates & is very difficult to pass & can lead to an impaction. The Impaction flatens making the stool impossible to pass on it's own. This causes gas build up & abdominal distention, bloating. My tummy use to be flat, now with all the gastric problems it swells up until I look 7mo pregnant. First , stop using any dairy/ milk products. Some of the swelling has eased up. I didn't even know it causes that much gas & if held for as long as you do, it ferments while in the intestines causing additional bloating. I hope you are on a high fiber diet & stool softener. Let me know a bit more about your problems, I may be able to help some more. I'm currently undergoing testing for the acute lower abdominal pain that started 3weeks ago. Good luck & you have a sympathic friend suffering right along with you.

I have had constipation problems all of my life. In the last year, I have been eating a bowl of bran cereal daily (usually bran flakes) and my bowels are better now than in my entire life. Just me.
