My AB Workout consists of 3 basic exercises. These exercises work on the 3 abdominal groups, worked out in the correct order to get maximum results.
1. Leg raises (Rectus Abdominis)
2. Side Crunches ( External/Internal Obliques)
3. Straight Crunches (Transverse Abdominis)
Here is how it works. You want to get up to where you are doing 3 sets of 25 reps for each exercise. But start with one set of 15, then 20, then 25. Then start with 2 sets of each, then finally 3 sets. Only allowing a 30 to 45 second break between sets.
1. Lie flat on a mat, with your hands placed at your lower back, close to your butt. Now with your legs bent slightly, and toes pointed away from your body, with legs together, lift your legs up 6 inches off the ground. Each rep consists of lifting your legs from 6 inches to 12 inches. You cannot put your legs on the ground till the set is done. Go between 6 inches, to 12 inches, and back. Each time you reach the 6 inch mark, count one rep. Each movement should be one second. One second up, one second down.
2. Lie with your back flat on the mat, your legs should be bent so that your feet are flat on the mat, about shoulder width apart. Your hands should not be behind your head, but place them under your opposite armpits, or chest. Now you curl up, not lifting your lower back off the mat, (these are crunches, not situps) Your rep consists of curling your right elbow towards your left knee, and then the other side. You do not touch your knee. One second up, one second, down. One second other side, one second down. A rep consists of both sides being done. So your rep is done when you have moved up, and down, on each side. (This one you will notice right away)
3. Lie the same way as in number 2 above, with the hands in the same position. Now this one you just curl straight up, hold for a second, then back down. Do not jerk yourself up, Curl yourself up. Each rep consists of one up, and one down. Each time you are on the mat with your back, counts as one rep.
NOTE: You can do abs every day. But I find if I rest one day a week, I reward myself for sticking with it.
GOOD LUCK, and enjoy your SIX PACK.

Stay away from bread, pasta, sugar, alchohol, and flour for three months. If you must, do it in moderation. Instead of two slices of bread, try one, but you did say "fastest way". Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and many Americans don't eat breakfast. Breakfast helps your metabolism by giving you energy to start the day even when you are not hungry and keeps your mind alert. You don't have to overeat. Eat in moderation. No bagels, muffins or croissants please. The object here is to eat as healthy as possible, even when you are not as hungry. Take a vitamin with your food, especially a vitamin with inositol, choline, guarana, or any other fat metabolizer. This keeps the metabolism going. If you starve yourself, you are depriving your body of nutrients that it needs and then the body goes into fat save mode. Meaning it will store the fat in your body longer than if you were to eat. Many people think that if they eat one meal a day they will lose, but, it depends on what you are eating. Also, the body is storing fat longer on one meal a day. You will lose, but not as fast if you were to eat 3 to 4 small meals a day. A pop contains so many unhealthy ingredients like sugar and carbs. If you must drink pop, make it diet , until you can wean yourself off pop completely. Pasta and other starches after a certain hour like 6 or 7pm aren't rightfully healthy unless you are not going to bed until 2am. You don't want to eat anything at least 3 hours before you sleep. The body needs time to adjust to what it has already eaten, and if you put pressure on your digestive system prior to rest you are overworking your heart and thus not allowing sufficient time to digest your food. The body needs to be up and active after eating. Never eat and lay down. Don't get me wrong, some people are genetically blessed with a high metab, but not all of us are. Eating helps keep the metabolism going. Its just "what" you eat. Try eating a lot of veggies, fruit (not fruit juice unless its unsweetened), almond milk or skim milk, and plenty of fiber rich foods. Of course if you look on the internet they will let you know what foods are rich in fiber. Carbs are good for maintaining muscle, but you must remember, if you are not exercising, the carbs will turn into fat. Try to stay away from foods with fat content at all cost. Nuts and avocado are full of fat but these are healthy fats (thats a different story altogether). Try to stay away from refined sugars, starches (like rice), and minimize your meat consumption, especially fatty meats like ground beef. Any lean cut of meat should suffice until you reach your goal (substitute turkey instead of ground beef). You want to trick the body into feeling that its full at least every 2 to 4 hours. Meaning your body needs a certain amount of calories daily depending on your height. Try to eat less than what your daily requirements are. Know your BMI and find out what your caloric intake per day might be in order to have a clearer picture. Drink plenty of water (8 to 10 glasses a day is sufficient). You do understand that "diet" means "way of life". If you are not going to incorporate healthy habits for the rest of your life, you will gain the weight back. Exercise, eat a balance diet, get plenty of rest. This will aid in losing inches to the waist line. A exercise bike works wonders if you don't like to jog. Crunches help, but won't spot reduce your stomach. You must lose weight all over in order to lose weight specifically in your stomach. Don't be led astray with all of the miracles pills that are out here right now. You shouldn't need anything chemically processed to help you maintain weight loss. You can't go out and drink 4 to 6 beers, two to four slices of pizza, and watch tv all day and expect to lose weight by taking a pill. If you adjust your diet, exercise and at least eight hours of sleep you should be o.k, but you must be diligent. Read labels when going to the store. Fat Free, low carbs, high fiber are things to look for. You won't see any results until about three months. Don't get discouraged, because it didn't take you a few weeks to get to the body that you have now, so be realistic when working out. Its a progression. If you take care of anything, including yourself, it, you will last longer. If you don't take care of something including yourself, it won't last long. Stay focused and be encouraged. Good luck.
