The dog may have had a grass seed or some foreign object lodge in its eye. If you want to do the best for your dog, take it to the vet now. It needs treatment with antibiotics and the vet will give you care tips for the proper care of your dog. Part of the responsibility of keeping a pet is to provide care for it in the way it needs. Do not put this off. Poor thing is suffering for sure.
Best wishes,
Lisa

Sounds like conjunctivitis, you should take your dog to the vet though because it is probably not very comfortable and it could be a worse infection in need of medication.

Conjunctivitis. He needs a trip to the vet to get some prescription antibiotic ointment. You don't want to wait with things that affect the eye because they can really go from bad to worse pretty quickly.

Betcha the the vet would know! Why not give them a buzz, describe as you had above to them and have the professionals diagnose your problem. You'll probably have to bring yoru dog in so that they can check him out and get some medication.

First - if you have a cat, he may have been scratched by the cat while playing (?). Otherwise, he may have just rubbed his face/jowls on the ground and gotten something in his eye in the process. If there's pus, there's infection, and you must seek treatment.....
