i jog 4 miles a day it take 1 hour so i jogg 4 miles an hour (this is all on my treadmill) for 2 days then take a day off then jog 2 days then off 1 thats been my routine i started out slow and have worked my way up to this routine. i warm up before i jog and i stretch both before and after. it seems when i jogg after my day off im ok but on the secound day i can really feel it in my legs like there sore ( ican feel this burn all the time, but not as bad)
Is this routine to much?
Should i do less on the secound day? or do i countinue pushing my self until i get used to this routine?
I like jogging and my long term goal is to eventually run a marathon, i dont expect to win but just to be able to do it.

no, you are a strong woman and you should be proud of yourself, remember you can do anything a man can do while giving birth! Drink a lot of water, when you exercise your muscles make lactic acid and when you don't get rid of it that is what makes your muscles sore, when you drink water it helps get rid of

Sounds like you've got a good plan, but here are a few thoughts you might consider...

Add up how many miles you jog in a week. Sounds like you may have a pretty standard routine that you increase upon over time. I'd recommend continuing your routine, and increasing slightly each week, but after 3 or 4 weeks of this, scale back for an entire week. In that week, reduce your mileage for that span by 25-50% of what you had been doing. The point of this is to give your body a chance to recover. You won't lose any stamina or speed by doing this. As a matter of fact, you'll like come back the next feeling stronger than you had before. Any small or nagging injuries may have a chance to clear up as well.

I have no idea if you should do less or more. What concerns me is that you are jogging at 4 mph. When I have seen people jogging at that pace, their form is usually awful. I would suggest walking at 4 mph or bumping up the speed to 5 mph if jogging (at least) If you are walking at 4 mph and it feels like the treadmill is controlling you instead of you controlling the treadmill, slow it down. Also consider doing some intervals at the higher speed. Try jogging at 5+ mph for a minute or two and slowing back down to a walk. Then pick it back up again. Good luck.

It's good that you are taking a day of rest between workouts. Why do you feel this is too much? Do your knees hurt or you feel that you are overdoing it? Many people training for marathons run much farther distances.

Keep at it. A little muscle soreness is a good thing.
