I have 7 day unlimited metrocards that I've been trying to sell for $22 each (regular value - $24) for about a month, and no one seems interested. I've tried Craigslist. Are there any other outlets that I haven't thought of? I don't want to pay ebay fees, and i need to get rid of these cards because I no longer take the train.

The MTA will refund your money. Ask for a form from the cashier in the subway station - I still have the form and at least three $4 unlimited one-day cards. Someday I will fill out the form, remember where I put the cards and mail it all in.

Unfortunatly most people arn't going to go through the hassel of buying a metrocard off of craigslist or ebay for a savings of $2 when they have to arrange to pick it up or wait for it to come in the mail. I personally would rather just pay the extra $2 at the machine and get it right then and there.

The only thing I could reccomend is to maybe reduce the price to $20. Maybe you might have someone interested. And craigslist is going to be your best bet, it's free and the most people are going to see it...good luck selling.

I know you said you dont want to pay ebay fees.. but depending on the sale price....id say... fees would be no more then $3-5. You can check on Ebay to be sure of the fees. If you were to put them on Ebay and they didn't sell they dont charge you. Not too bad if it comes down to it... Good luck. :)

Maybe contact some NYC businesses that employ people likely to take the train.

technically its illegal to do this, thats why nobody wants to buy them/ there are signs all over the subways that say do not buy metrocards from anywhere but the metrocard machines

Go with eBay. It's better then not getting rid of them at all.

see if you can sell it to one of your friends, or co-workers, family. or see if you can go to the mta website to find out how to get a refund.
