Lust is generally a more physical reaction. Getting aroused by thoughts of doing things with that person.

Love at first site can include lust, which can make it hard to determine if it's truly love or lust, but if you find yourself thinking about the person as a companion for a long-term relationship it's probably more than lust. If you just want to have sex or get freaky with the person it's more likely that it is lust.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. At 1st glance they both look the same to the untrained. Upon close inspection one see that love is like the silk to lust's satin.

Lust: Is self-indulgent
Love: Is outward giving.

Lust: Temporary.
Love: There for life

Lust: Non committal
Love: Solely committed.

Lust: Done 1st before building lines of communication.
Love: Done after the ground work of communication is done

Lust: Like renting.
Love: Like owning

Lust: Is physical only.
Love: Is metaphysical and soulful. Is like a 5 course meal, never leaves you hungry.

Lust: Is like a snack cake not a meal. Is never enough.
Love: Is more than you can ask for, you are always satisfied

Lust: For the immature.
Love: For the mature.

Lust: The booty call
Love: A loving relationship that just has sex in it.

Lust: You are controlled by your body.
Love: You command your body.

Love can grow from the seeds of lust but it is hard. Once sex muddles the water, all those things that could be there or is thought to be there but really ain't can not be seen because no one wanted to give up the sex. Only marry someone you have had good conversations with before you became a couple. Those simple communication skills will be way more important years from now.

Love at first sight IS Lust at first sight.

Lust is an attraction without the substance. You can't truly love someone that you don't know.

Lust will get you going, but Love will keep you going...even when lust is gone.

Lust is when you see her all dolled up, and looking "smokin' hot", and you want to grab her, kiss her, and make love to her.

Love is when she is sick with the flu, feeling horrible, and all you would like to do is comfort her, and make her feel better.

Love is from your heart, and Lust is from somewhere 18" lower than that.

If you are lucky, you will find both of these things in the same person. I did, and I feel blessed.

Good luck.

Lust is when you see someone; not necessarily the first time, all you think is making love to them....and be all over them, you can take out of your head, how they look, how they lay down, how they touch you....etc

Love is when you someone you know rather well, you get a smile on your face, and you feel like your heart just opened up...you can't get out of your mind how they talk, laugh, treat you tender and touch you as well....

Lust is a small part of love but not the other way around..you lust for someone if you love them but you may never fall in love with one you lust for.

The difference is the feeling you get, either it is in your heart, or in your pants. As a man, I am used to lust at first sight, because honestly I wanna screw every good looking woman I see. But there was this one time, many years ago, I saw this woman and for the first time in my life, I didn't know what to say, how to act, or how to even breathe without inhaling my tongue. THAT, is the difference.

For guys the difference is that when we are in love we talk weird, freeze up, don't know witch way is up, and we go do something crazy to get the girls attention. As for lust we act all suave, pretend were the best guy in the world, never shut-up, and we normally get a huge *****.

Love- is where u want to give them EVERYTHING and everything about the way you guys look at each other is pure and sweet.
Lust- Would be wanting them for a sexual interest and just for you. Like YOU WANT THEM no matter what and just for yourself.

I had love at first sight, it was the happiest moment of my life!! :)

Hmm.. never thought of it that way.. My husband and I tend to say it was love at first sight.. but I just really thought he was cute, and he had kind eyes, but I didn't plan it out, my whole life, with him automatically.. I guess that it depends on how realistic/romantic one is. Someone in my position would probably say love at first sight, but I'm not really a romantic person, I mean, I got burned before, and ever since, I don't trust that easily at first.. I mean, first time he said he loved me 48 hours after we met, I thought he just wanted to get into my pants.. but he says he knew it..
I think how you tell the difference, lies in the person, and their perception of love, and how romantic they are.. My husband and I felt the same, but I was more skeptikal..
Cool question!!
