I don't know anything about bread machines but I've made Irish soda bread. Although soda bread requires some kneading, it is not really all that much. The dough does not turn into average stretchy bread dough, it is looser and somewhat more wet. You may want to consider making it without the machine -- seems like the clean up would not be worth the effort of using the machine. Good luck.

Depends on which type of bread machine you have. Mine is Creative Touch and my recipe book calls for code 21. If you are adding walnuts,you do not put in until the machine beeps.
This recipe is for whole wheat Irish soda bread.

the recipe i found says to use the fruit bread or basic bread setting. sorry i couldn't be of more help.
