Better price per unit, but if you don't have the storage space for the industrial size mayonnaise or don't need 12 red bell peppers before they rot, you might be better off using the regular grocery. I like these types of stores when I'm having a party.

I'm single and I never thought a box-retail store would work for me. I joined Sam's and I really like it. Not everything is super huge. I buy really great wine at a cheaper price than the grocery store...the fresh produce is also packaged in both "normal" and family size.
After two trips to the store, the membership pays for itself. Most stores have trial memberships where you are given a pass to visit for a day or a weekend. If you're hesitant, check it out that way first.

It's GREAT if you have a big family or are feeding a lot of people.

I have a Costco membership and I love it. They have great food that you can't find in the grocery store and I can buy things that I need in bulk.

If I didn't have a Costco card I would be at the grocery store at least twice a week.

You buy in bulk at those places, so the cost is less. Example..Say you buy 4 rolls of toilet paper at a grocery store. You pay about 85 cents a roll. When you go to Bj's, you have to but 50 rolls (bulk) you are getting each roll for about 50 cents a roll. So, if you have room for storing items in bulk, I'd say get the BJ's card. You will save loads over a course of the year. Good luck and happy shopping!!

My normal bulk items I buy from Costco is like toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, snacks for my sons school and sports games, diapers and wipes were great buys when my son was born.
You should to to BJ's and get a trail membership (they usually do this). Look around and comparasin shop with things you normally buy. But remember you will be using up more space since you're buying things in bulk.

Great prices on bulk, frozen and non-perishable items. This works great in our neighborhood where ther are lots of elderly folks on fixed incomes. I'll get a list together of what folks need, go to Sam's and buy in bulk, then split up the packages into boxes and deliver them. My terms are COD ... lol
Seriously though, it's a blessing for those folks.....

It's cheaper. You still need to get fresh food and nicer foods from a regular grocery fruit, but it's cheaper to get cereal, peanut butter, soda, etc. It makes more sense if you have a large family, because their packages are huge.

Good if you need larger quantities of particular foods but I often think the same, if not better, deal can be had at the regular stores.

Buying in bulk. But be sure you really need what you are buying. You may not really need 14 gallons on mayo.
