im trying to get my ged and i want to know is it hard and what can i do to get prepared for the test

No getting up and going to school everyday for 4 years is hard. There are classes for you and there are some study guides available at a book store.

Depends on how much you already know. This site is supposed to be a good, free site. I don't know 1st hand though, as I have never worked through their course

Yes, it's hard for us of average intelligence.
The best thing you can do is get yourself a couple good study books and a good tutor.
