I suppose depends where you are coming from and how much you want to spend travelling.

as the poster above mentioned - the West Coast is nice Vancouver/Whistler has a nice blend of outdoor and cosmpolitan activities - the San Juan Islands, however are on the American side - here, we call them the Gulf Islands. On Vancouver Island - Victoria is very prety and you can travel norht from there to one of the world's most amazing scenice vistas - Long Beach, between Tofino and Ucluelet nothing but miles of Pacific Ocean amongst a temperate rainforest. You can aslo catch Alaska cruise ships out of Vancouver - they meander up the coast past glaciers, totem poles, fjords and pod of orcas...

If you're more midwest, of course Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) is a popular honymooner desitination - couple it with a trip to nearby Toronto, Canada's largest city, also nearby our capital Ottawa has lots of sites muesums and galleries.

For a European flavour - you might explore Quebec - the belle provence - its largest city, Montreal is a hip happening cosmoploitan city unparralled on this continent it's capital - the much smaller Quebec City is the oldest in NA, and beautiful - cobblestoned streets, a walled old city on a hill. People speak French throughout the region - in some places exclusively - so it would help to brush up on that although you should be able to get around fine as an Anglo tourist.

The Atlantic Provinces boast IMHO the friendliest peopl in all Canada - miles of winding roads and quaint little fishing villages - the areas steeped in history.. sorta like a cross between the British Isles and New England in the USA.

Lastly, for something completely different - Canada's north.. wild and 'undiscovered' .. Whitehourse in the Yukon is like a page out of an old west book - lots of outdoor activities in the land of the midnight sun.

For: "outdoors, eating, beaches, mountains & relaxing" in the all-together there really is only one general area in Canada to find all of them: either the Laurentians north of Montreal or the Eastern Township area southeast of Montreal. But if you go in May the waters of the Laurentian lakes may still be a bit cold for swimming, and the Eastern Township lakes almost so.

If swimming is not necessary but good sunbathing beaches are I would also suggest you consider Vancouver Island and nearby islands like Saltspring.

You do not say that an interesting city is one of your loves, but if you'd like that, too, Montreal is just a wonderful (and romantic) metropolis and Victoria a most delightful smaller city; also Quebec City is just a 2 1/2 drive from the former and Vancouver just an hour's ferry from the latter.

In western Canada, I highly recommend either Victoria or Kelowna. Both are located in BC. Victoria is outstanding and has very many things to do and see and is easily assessable to both Vancouver, BC and Seattle.

Kelowna is a popular resort town that rests on the 50 mile long Lake Okanagan. It is located where the northernmost part of the desert region that starts in northern California meets the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I lived there for a summer while I was your age and you will have a great time.

Nobody has plugged it yet so my turn. The Muskoka region of Ontario offers everything but the mountains. It does have hills, but no elevation changes like in the mountains. Get a travel agent to book you into a resort and then line up a car to travel around the region. If you include Algonquin Park and Parry Sound you're looking at close to 5000 square miles or better.

You do realize that Canada is a HUGE country don't you?

It's not the kind of place you can "do it all" in three days =)

But it sounds like Vancouver, BC would be the best place for a visit mentioning what you have mentioned. Not too much sea or mountains outside coastal provinces.

Look into renting a house on the San Juan islands they get more sun than Vancouver and have lots of outdoor things to do. Vancouver is cool there is lots to do. You can go whale watching, go to china town, tons of good food available. I would send off for info on both places and start that way. It may be cheaper to fly into seattle and drive to Canada, it is a pretty drive and only 3 hours.

If you're looking for near the best food in Canada, friendly people, "joie de vivre" and unexpensive rooms and food, Quebec's province is one of the best place. Montreal (biggest city) is quasi bilingual, especially for touristic places and people a really friendly so they'll always try to help you if you ask. Its location, like Quebec, near St-Lawrence river, is really intersting (views and activities).

North and south of Montreal and Quebec (the really beautiful capital) you'll find plenty of beautiful parks (hiking, bicycles trails, lakes, campgrounds...) and nice hotels, B&B, spas, etc.

If you want to see marine life, eat the cheapest and best seafood in Canada, see wonderful sunsets or do kayaking, go east to "Bas-Saint-Laurent" region or easter to Gaspesia. Scenics are incredibles.

See http://www.bonjourquebec.com/us-en/accueil0.html for official tourism Quebec's Internet website designed for US people.

in case you desire vast city explorations Toronto, in case you desire historic web content and a attractive city, Quebec city yet save in options they frequently communicate French there in case you desire surroundings visit the Rockies, banff nationwide park is acceptable you would possibly want to visiti the most important mall in north united states in Edmonton, west Edmonton mall has some thing for each body including a water park and an indoor roller coaster you actually have the prairies the position you will discover your canines operating away for miles you may also visit the east coast which also has acceptable surroundings then you definately have the west coast, Vancouver and Victoria, which also has some acceptable surroundings.

i would recommend the maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island) the maritimes has pretty much everything you would be looking for all with in a very short distance from each other plus the people are very friendly and hospitable.
