Do you think the psychiatrist was full of it?

Yes... and Yes...

Of them... the only one I have agreed with and embraced more as a way for me to cope is the OCD. The rest of them were opinions that came to nothing and are nothing... They did have me upset for a very long time though and kind of made me doubt myself fo awhile.

I believe that Mental health is honesty and self awareness... and Mental Illness is when we lose that connection to our own inner voice and sense of accountability and responsability for our feelings, beliefs, deeds and actions.

When you lie to yourself and to others as a result... and avoid it long enough. Mental illness is never far behind. Self sorts out self one way or another eventually. Either by force or by circumstance.

Most mental health professionals are simply facilitating that sense of self denial and enabling people to be dishonest and deceptive. Numbing the mind with meds is not the answer...

Yes, I have been diagnosed with one. The psychologist who diagnosed me was awesome, She hit it on the nose. However, before I was tested, I saw a psychiatrist and he said I only was controlling. He was full of it. The other psychiatrist I saw agreed with the psychologist.

I was on Chloropromazine (Largectic)which was discontinued on finding myself epileptic. My last seizure was in 2003 and I had bouts of depression till 2005. I am allergic to Qutipin and Tetracycline. I had lithium dosages as well and several other drugs. I was suggested closapine which I declined. I had a patterns ( hallucinations problem for over 2 years). I used to see blurred and hazy hazy images in front of me and couldn't come out of it. Now I am on Sodium Valporate 1500mg per day. Actually, I've been diagnosed with depression, social anxiety disorder, and ADHD. Before I was diagnosed, I had read about those conditions, so I didn't have any doubt that I actually had them. In fact, after I read about ADHD, I suspected that I had it, and it was only when I came in for testing that it was finally confirmed.
