v. 29 30 Jesus is stressing the importance of avoiding hell, even at the cost of losing a part of one's own body. We dare not do those things that arouse our fleshly desires (Romans 8:13; Matthew 26:41; Galatians 5:16,17).
In dealing with temptation there are certain things we should remember.
(1 ) Do not think you can handle it yourself (James 4:6-7).
(2) Resist the devil (James 4:7; 2 Timothy 2:22; Genesis 39:7-13).
(3) Start reading the Word (Matthew 4:4-10; Psalms 119:11).
(4) Draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you (James 4:8).

The words are literal to this extend: if it were necessary to lose a member of our body rather than one's oul, then we should gladly part with the member. Fortunately it is never necessary, since the Holy Spirit empowers the believer to live a holy life. However, there must be cooperation and rigid discipline on the believer's part.
Mosaic law forbids adultery and Jesus takes it further and forbids the desire.

i imagine the answer lies in the politics of first century Judea and Rome. that's a huge topic, so enable's save it to 2 issues. a million) every time the Christian canon has an chance to diss the Jewish administration, and Jews and Judaism ordinarily, it takes it. even at the same time as it ability fabricating tremendous sections like the notorious trial scene, the information of which make it clean that it wasn't in the slightest degree Jewish. For allegedly eye-witness debts, the canon receives a great deal of the Jewish information very incorrect. All of that makes Paul's 'conversion' particularly suspect. As does his exceedingly thorough lack of information of Judaism. 2) At a time at the same time as Rome replaced into furious with persevered Jewish insurrection, resistance to assimilation and refusal to worship Roman emperors as gods, a faith comes alongside which transforms the most effective image of Jewish independence right into a docile lamb, teaching its followers to render unto Caesar, turn the different cheek and dream of a contented afterlife. How bloody accessible.

Remember God forgives people of sins as long as they try not to commit sin or re-offend etc, but Jesus is trying to say that it is better for the person not to have that member of the body which keeps offending/committing sin because sin cannot enter heaven but only hell.

Peace be with you, ...and the truth shall make you free
Christians, think as catholics (make-believe Jews, Rev 2:9 3:9), they believe they can do as they will and God will forgive them, all they have to do is repent.
But disciples of Jesus Christ know different, that if you love Jesus and the Father, who is in heaven, you will keep his commandments and be perfect, all will be revealed unto you.
The truth about adultery.
Jesus said; whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Jesus said a "Woman" not a married woman, but a Woman.
Jesus also said to "Lust" after her.
Adultery has nothing to do with a married man or a woman, it has to with "Lusting after"
If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out...
if thy right hand hand offend thee cut it off...
These are literal statements, however, Jesus said, you can do nothing without me, if you where to pluck out your own eye, or cut off your own hand, you are telling Jesus and God the Father, who is in heaven, you don't need them, that you can can save yourself.
If you believed as you claimed you do, then you would love Jesus and do as he commanded. John 14, and John 15:5
And follow his least commandment, I thank you for your wisdom. We are in a time that many have been decieved, but berween us disciple of Jesus Christ, we can plant seeds.

Jesus spoke in parables, isn't to take it literally. He is telling you in other words get rid of the part of the body that is causing you to sin instead of going to Hell. if this was the case many many people would not have eyes and hands.
Jesus is my savior my God, and I will honor Him as much as I am able to since I am a human and not perfect like He was.

Yes, I try to although I do fail at times.
Dude, it is clear that you don't understand what he is saying.
Radical amputation-
ex. If internet porn is a struggle for me, I should get rid of the internet at my house or put a firewall up & let someone else set the password.
Hope this helps you to understand. I hope this example makes sense to you.
By the way, he comes from a Jewish culture. And in that culture, people would have understood his hyperbole here-seeing that it is unlawful to mutilate your body. If it causes you to sin, get rid of it!

No one can keep the whole law to a tee...
God requires perfection.....and Christ has cloaked us with righteousness because of His sacrifice.
We can now come into His presence only because of the blood of the Lamb.
