I just moved to Pa. from Me. a few months ago. I found a clinic and they will not prescribe clonopin for me. They sent me to a mental health clinic and they were willing to let me go through withdrawals while the went through their three visit proccess. I found them to be uncaring. This is to make a longer story short.! I am fourty-six, I know what works for me, I have my medical history, so why play games with my life. Cold turkey from clonopin is something I went through once since I been here, not an option, so I am weining myself off.

Hi Darlene,

I am so sorry you are going through this with this clinic, but a lot of clinics are reluctant to prescribe clonopin without first knowing you a while especially because of the possibility of it being a very strong habit forming drug. That being said you will experience some srious rebound anxiety for a few days and hopefully they will put you back on it. If you have been taking the Clonopin for many years it may not be a bad idea to wein yourself off and try an SSRI to see if it works once you have come off the clonopin completely. Good luck and feel free to e-mail me if you want to talk about it more.

That really sucks that that clinic made you have to go through withdrawls & cold turkey that just shows they don't care. Can't a Dr. send for your records from your old Dr.?? I'm with you though I am 50 and I know what works for me! I take xanax along with Effexor. So find a Dr. not one from a clinic, they all tend to be idiots! Good Luck

I take Klonopin for RLS (restless leg syndrome) . I take the generic Clonazepam 2mgs at bedtime. My regular physician prescribes it for me, Now my insurance co-pay is $5.00 that's medicare part D, but if you don't have insurance a 30 day supply is $17.29
I would try to get my regular physician to prescribe it. I wouldn't suggest to go to a clinic.

Hi darlene, klonopin is a great drug for anxiety and panci disorder. I would suggest you calling your old doc and refilling your prescription by phone. Just explain to your Doc the truth and im sure they will help you. Also, do not go to this clinic any longer. Please find another DOc if you can.
God Bless

Because Klonopin is addictive... and people with drug seeking behavior often abuse it.

It is very hard to tell the difference after a few years on it and because drug seeking behavior often includes frequently moving and changing doctors and a dire need for the med they gave you to begin with... it is impossible to tell which one you are.

Everyone gets taken off these drugs eventually for that very reason... When the physician feels that your addiction is a threat to their license. They will take you off it and place a little note in your chart that says... "Exhibits drug seeking behavior." Often times it is even in the notes in the pharmacy systems...

That's why I always say that it is better to never start on this junk to begin with.
