Hybrid Cars help the environment by putting a reduced amount of pollutants into the air. Sense the car runs half on engine and the other half on electric that is created as you drive. The theory goes that you will get twice as much distance out of the same gallon of gas.

This is close to the truth as the norm seems to be 1.5 more distance then a equal sized and powered car.

By the time you factor in the pollution that will be caused by disposing of the batteries when they wear out, it probably does more harm than a conventional car.

They use less gas which means less of our earth's resources are being consumed ( oil ). That's great.
