Most likely, these are exactly the same people that work at Apple, have stock related to Apple, or just have some important ties to Apple, that they think they have to advertise themselves, which is pretty sad. There's a reason why most people don't buy macs - they just don't like it. They always assume that we've never used a mac, or not long enough to like it, which is completely wrong. I mean who doesn't notice those annoying ads, the Apple stores, and all the crazy hype? They're such bigots when they say "I've bet you've never used a mac before" - Well I've used them, and although they are pretty, I wouldn't say their much easier, since I've spent at least 3 weeks with it. The most I've ever done on OS X is just use the internet, iChat, or Photo Booth, not much more than I can do on Windows. And there are PC's that are of great quality, it's just that the majority we recognize as just standard and plain. I'm sure if you've seen some Sony Vaios, Dell XPS, or even some Samsung models, they're just as good too. I just think that they regard their systems so much highly, that they just can't think for themselves. If people have truly wanted to move to them, people would have done so. It's just that most people do see any sense in moving, since Windows is a really good OS, and Vista is even (kinda) better. I usually hate those kind of people that show off how OS X or even Linux is better, and just bash off Windows users. OS X and Linux has their fair share of problems, some noticeable, and some not. They just think that it's so great, that it's so sad. To tell you the truth, I do have a MacBook Pro, but it's just for using Final Cut Pro and that's about it. Otherwise than that, I just often use my Vaio. So don't call me anti-apple. It's just that they're so over-zealous and all. I just ignore them, or if they're really annoying (i.e. UbiquitiousGeek, formerly MacGeek), I personally bash them also. So just ignore them.

Is this a Question or a Tirade ? :-)
They probably write here because their work is done quicker and faster than many PCs :-)
Either that or the Work is Automated, so they have much free time :-)
But, true, So many Answers like "Buy a Mac" really do not provide a solution for someone who has a PC driver or setup issue they need fixed quickly
Mac Evangelists really do themselves a dis-service with a Minority just dissing PCs, and not providing Constructive solutions in some cases; If it is about a suggestion for a question like " What Computer is best for...." then Sure, let a Mac user make their case.
I Like Macs and PCs, especially since I work on a large Network. Really gives you a broader perspective especially when you see Digital Unix, Sco Unix, And other Systems.
And even when I know that a Banyan Server can run a Mail server on an incredibly small amount of Ram, its kind of pointless to hammer that. Horses for course in my view

Mac users are indeed religious in my experience, the "this cannot have happened in Mac OS" is usually part of their phrases, although the useful that task done correctly don't lead to this and opens up those possibilities.
Mac OS stable? OS X probably, but not the Apple stuff before. Mistakenly write the C line while (x = 1) and you should find out. I don't think even MS-DOS threw you into crash/debug mode for something trivial as this.
If you are capable to use Linux, you can probably dance around any kind of computer and its OS, Linux and FreeBSD are very different under-the-hood but I can figure it out the minute after Live CD boots, whatever answer anyone seeks came to you the moment you read, however OS bashing is very common still.

I've used both the Mac and PC and like them both. I think some people buy a Mac to make a bit of a style comment about themselves (because it's not as 'common' or as cheap as a PC). I can't say much about the Linux system as I've never even contemplated using it. But their only argument for using it (that I hear) is that it's not so prone to virus attacks. I think people loose the point, it's just a tool no matter what you call it.

It's all about bias. It's like asking a Redskins or Giants fan why the Eagles didn't make it to the playoffs. Their response will ALWAYS be negative, because obviously, they don't like the Eagles. In essence, Mac and Linux users should either be more constructive in answering Windows questions or shut up.

Because your using a PC negatively affects Mac users. For example, approximately 95% of all email is spam, and virtually all of that is coming from zombie PCs that are infected with malware that sends out junk mail all day long, without the PC user knowing about it. Your PC might be doing it right now!
There are other ways Windows harms Mac users, too. Windows software is crappy because there's a rush to get the software out on the market, and fix things later. Mac users expect better quality, but when some of this software is ported to the Mac, some of the same shoddy work ethic seeps through, reducing the quality of Mac software.
The more people who switch to Macs, the better off everyone will be.

Microsoft assumes that every desktop user is an idiot.
Maybe the reason that so many Linux users answer questions about Windows is because they have a higher degree of understanding of the Windows OS and how operating systems work and should work.
Most of us with any degree of computer knowledge are forced to use Windows at work as well as Linux so we tend to have a greater degree of understanding of both operating systems.
It doesn't necessarily mean that we are fanboys (or girls).

Because they know that Windows sucks. Which it does.
With Linux who don't have to worry about virus's and spyware.
Who the hell uses a Mac? The reason Mac's don't get virus's is because hardly anybody even uses a Mac.
In my opinion the only thing a Mac is good for is making movies and porn. You don't' have to worry about virus's when you download porn with a Mac.

Because they are eager to make everyone switch to the mac!
It's as simple as that! As long as you are in a minority group (and be it even as elite as the mac users) you're trying to make it grow!
I think it's the way this works - and now please sell your PC and buy a Mac instead! ;-) I am a Mac user/switcher too - but i do run Windows (even Vista) as well!

Because we know that these systems are better for everyone, yet these "idiot" users keep lining Microsoft's pockets.
Satisfied?
I won't stop until Microsoft is six feet under.
