Would like to start coming Monday. Already purchased frost resistent tile. Winters are rarely freezing cold. We may get one week of 50 degree temps here and there. Otherwise climate here is somewhat mild. This is also a screened porch so minimal rain water touches floor. I live in Norfolk Va if that helps?

also your opinion would be helpful: Do you believe a pebble mosaic rectangle medalion 3'x5 1/2' in a daimond geometric pattern on a screened porch floor would hurt my resale value or help it?

here's a link to actual image of how medallion looks

If your stating frost resistant, you must mean porcelain. It is recommended porcelain to be used outdoors. You will have to use a latex fortified mortar, and mix your grout with pure latex additive, NO WATER. Even though it doesn't freeze often, you still have a flux in temperature due to the change of seasons. Latex allows the grout and mortar to have a little flex for expansion and contraction. In my 20 years experience, I would suggest Mapei ultra contact. along with mapei mortar. second choice would be TEC ultra flex. Both available at menards. As to the medallion, any custom work done with tile, either on the floor or walls adds re-sale value to your home. You will spend extra time on the installation, but the results will be worth it. Remember, if your installing the medallion in the center of the room, start the installation there first, then fill the outer area with your field tile. Unless you have allot of experience, it's difficult to install both at the same time, and keep the tile going straight.

Good Luck..

Tile grout is only evil when it goes bad. When those clean pure white grout lines start turning yellow, or worse, green and gray. When fungus sets in and good grout goes bad. Bad grout bad grout, whatcha gonna do when they come for you? Catch all the latest mold news tonight at ten. The poetry section would like your stanza with its Charles Bukowski-like ending.

River Pebble Question: I love it on a floor. I think it helps your resell value.

For your outdoor tile job, go to Lowes or your local tile dealer and purchase these two products:
