If your dependent is your child and is under 19 or under 23 and a fill time student or is any age and totally and permanently disabled, their income doesn't affect your ability to claim them as a dependent. In all other cases you cannot claim a person as a dependent if they have gross income of $3,300 or more.

I assume this dependent is not disabled.

If she is your child, and she did not provide over half of her own support, then her income can be over $3,300 and you can still claim her as your dependent.

If she is not your child, then if her taxable income is $3,300 or more, then you cannot claim her even if you supported her.
