no, dont use the one in the back....use your USB port.......... the best and easiest way to use skype is a USB skype phone....circuit city always has sales on skype phones......and with wifi skype you done have to sit on your butt at the computer all the time...you can walk abound the house while talking...

You can use a regular phone, wired or cordless, to access Skype, but you need a special phone adaptor connected to your broadband router/switch. The 4-wire phone connectors on the back of your computer are probably the ones off your modem, useless for your purpose.

no, that is a fax modem, one connection is for the dial tone to enter into the modem, and the other connection is so that you can connect a phone to the modem, so that you can have the phone and modem connected to a single phone jack, there is no way for you to connect a phone to a faxmodem to recive dial tone, or phone service via a softphone service.. It would be pretty awesome... but its just not an option, you need to connect a headset to your mic in, and headphone out.,.. or purchace one of the ATA devices, or USB phones..

Hi there,

No, the answer is NO. Your (two) connections are

1- direct connection to the wall plug - so that you can send faxes and connect to dial-internet
2- by-pass connection to a standard phone, so you won't lose the wall connection

When you use a standard phone (no internet connection simltaneously!) the PC won't do anything...

Have fun,

ought to properly have been a house working set up. examine the none digi get right of entry to socket, and notice the place the twine is going. it ought to have been disconnected. no count if it fairly is homehighway, im specific bt do convert it back to pstn for unfastened. of course call them first as they are able to advise if there has been yet another line working at that address, and if seperate they're going to advise on fee to connect them as extensions.
