Lets say i earn 1800 dollars every month. how much of it should i give for zakat?? and where do i have to give the money(zakat)??

can someone give me some 'quick info' about zakat please?(not 50 lines copied from a website)

It's 2.5% of you earnings. $45 a month in your case.

It can be given at your local masjid.

If you need help locating your local masjid go to www.islamicfinder.org and do the search at the top for Prayer times, it will ask you to insert your ZIP code. This will give you a list of Masjids and Mosques in your area as well.

in the quranit says to give to orphans and the poor
unfortunately there are no orphanages around here or u could donate to foster children's homes also there are many online places u can doante as well that is how i would do it there are also online zakat calculators
it is not based soley on ur income this is a misconception

I am not reaaalllyy sure, but I think you give it at your local masjid..regarding the amount of money you have to give, you will have to see someone else's answer...
