You must realize people that without the Holy spirit you can ask questions but never understand.
The Bible is more than a book. For the "language: of the book can only be deciphered by the holy spirit.

agreed.... you cannot find the wisdom unless you are seeking with your whole heart, and God opens up that door of understanding, thru the Holy Spirit....
tho, some people, upon desiring to find God more.... understand on a level needed to believe that what God says is true... and once to that position, they truly accept Christ and then receive the Holy Spirit....
so it isnt necessarily 'all one' way... for the Holy Spirit isnt in everyone, it is only in those who truly believe/entrust upon Jesus as their Savior.... and sometimes, that comes after they have read and understood some parts of the bible, as God reveals what they need to know

The Holy Spirit says it extremely is defined in the Bible as itching ears. The Holy Spirit says the comparable issues to us as He mentioned to them. God speaks and we could respond to what He says. All fact is provided on a beginning place. Jesus is the cornerstone.

Most christians I know must not have the holy spirit then because I know far too many who don't understand 99% of the bible. They mostly only know John 3:16.

Without the Holy spirit, the Bible is probably just another historical book.

It's a daily miracle. I have stated before that unbelievers that try to do scriptural exegesis really suck at it. I think that the humility that one would apply to anythig that one becomes a student, just isn't there. They approach the Bible with the mentality of an angry mob.

Tribble, back on the meds.
Your theory stands about 5 seconds until it cracks. Even the most devout Christian Bible scholars all have different takes.
Me, I understand it fine. I have studied all religions. It is a collection of texts, many which should have never been placed together, which show the ideals of the time they were written, which are vastly different than those of contemporary times.

Very true. You can sit and study the Bible all day, but not get a thing out of it. It's up to God to change people's hearts, not us. All we can do is pray.

Then ... please tell me ... what's the point of the book in the first place?
If a "lost" peson can't read the bible and understand the nature and promise of god and his plan for salvation, then why even write the book? It seems like god would have written something intended to reach those who are searching for him, not just reading material for those who already believe.

Ah, you need the Holy Spirit? How much of these spirits must I imbibe?
I imagine it one must be drunk off one's butt before the Bible makes sense.

Well, there is a catch 22 if ever I heard one.
Does God want us to worship him through our free will or not. If your statement holds true, then he picks and chooses who will understand and who will not.
You are correct; I do not understand.
