Hello. Probably one of the best ways is to get one of those long rods used for sharpening it, and you do it several times equally on both sides. Aside from that, you could get a knife sharpener from Walmart or such and run it from the lower end of the knife to the tip several times... and clean off the residue. Also an extra tip... don't use glass cutting boards to cut your food... it WILL dull your knives. Emeril suggests having two cutting boards to do different items (i.e. one for meats and the other for veggies). In restaurants they have several different colors for each food preparation that's done. Good luck!

You can re-hone the blade, but the only way to sharpen your knives is to have a professional do it. Honing the blade can be done on a wetstone or with an electric knife "sharpener". Always use your steel before using your knives.

I have a set of Henckels and I use a sharpening steel about every 4th time the knife is used.

Simple n easy method but somewhat temporary one is to ... scratch two knives against one another edge ... that really sharpens ... but sometimes lasts not to long ... depends !
