No. We are a Christian country. This is the reason we allow freedom of religion. Christians (like Christ) believe in free will. Still, the money is made from the government and we are a Christian country.

The motto of our currency could be, "We're on an express elevator to hell! Going down!!" and I could really care less. Money is money. It all spends the same. Just because it has a god's name on it doesn't mean that all who use it trust in this god, and it doesn't mean that those who believe trust in god more while they're on a shopping spree.
The uproar over this whole thing is just plain stupid. I'm sure your god would appreciate you seeking his advice and wisdom in the ways you spend your money more than he appreciates empty words printed on a piece of paper or metal.

I do not care what our money says as long as I have it when I need it (and I do). If you have a problem with it saying In God We Trust...I am glad to take it off your hands - cheese

I don't believe our currency should be talking about God at all. You'd think even "religious" people would object to the name of God appearing on something as filthy and crass as money.

I think the god they are saying, is the god they are reading the saying from. The money itself.

Everyone SHOULD trust God...But I never understood why that would be placed on money in the first place, it's of economic value, not religious.

Sounds like a plan to me, although, as has been mentioned, taking the "God" out would be much easier. Why don't you write your Congressman?

Where I live we have Euros, and no one would dream of writing any sort of religious statement on a money bill. Ridiculous idea.

Why has it to mention God at all? In Europe we are fine without God on our money.

Why not - "In God We Trust. All others pay cash"?
Sometimes you feel like a nut - sometimes you don't
