Or do they have to be inseminated? This isn't a joke I swear. They are horrible looking.

Turkens are not chicken/turkey crosses, they are a breed of chicken.

If they were chicken turkey crosses then the offspring would be infertile, just like mules are, and not the beginning of a new breed.

They are different species, I would be amazed if they could. If they could breed successfully, they would technically be one and the same species.

The only possible answer I can think of is that you might get a thing like a mule (ie. an animal missing certain genes to make it deficient somehow).

As for physical aspects in the mating act itself, I can't imagine a smallish turkey and a largish chicken having any problems.

I suppose off a VERY rare chance they could mate. But their offspring would be a hybred and could not reproduce at all. But It would have to be a Turken...or a henkey, I like turken better though.

no they are altogether different spiecies it like trying to mate a cat with a dog
