itrips is an fm transmitter for an ipod. any radio can use it. all it does is broadcast an fm signal.

It works by transmitting a radio signal that you tune the headunit into. I've not got one, but have heard bad things if you live in a city with pirate radio bleeding over etc. I use one of those naff cassettes with the wire coming out for my MP3 player, but if you have a CD player it might be your only choice

If you are talking about the MP3 player jack (like iPod), you should have that capability, but probably not with all cars.
