I'm dying my hair black on top and red on the bottom layer, how can i do this?

first of all, my question is not asking for suggestions of what colors to do. i already stated which colors i am doing. i am asking HOW can i do this.. NOT should i do this? duh!

Do the top section first. Part with a zig zag parting like this /\/\/\/\/\/\. It looks cool cause you can see the bottom color peekaboo through the top color.... KWIM?

First you should buy a hair dye brush from the beauty supply store. It's wide and flat and good for painting on the color at the part. It's got a long tail on it that's good for dividing the hair. It's a dollar well spent. You'll probably need a friend to help.

Divide the hair on the top from the hair on the bottom layer. This depends of how much you want red and how much you want black. Use the make a straight part all around your head to divide the lower and upper section. I'd do the top first, put on the dye and when you get to the part, paint on with brush, then clip it up. Do the same with the bottom half.

get someone to part the hair about where you would want to red and black to start and end. then carefully tie up the hair that's going to be black on top with a few big clip and make sure they are secure. then start dying the bottom layer with the red. let that dry. then pick up all the red hair and make sure it doesn't mix (put it in clips also) with the hair you want to dye black. carefully dye the hair and make sure the line doesn't get crooked or messed up. good luck

okay, i did the exact same thing to my hair that you want to do w/ yours except mine is different colors. all you need to do is pin up all the hair that you want to dye black and then dye the bottom layer of your hair red (however the dye you bought tells you to dye it). after you dye your hair red, take down the remaining hair that you want to dye black, and then dye that. i didn't do it myself, either. i had help from someone so you might want to get a friend to help you dye your hair. good luck.

just put the black dye on the top of your hair then the red dye at the bottom how you want it and it shold help :)

i dye my own hair and i dyed it blonde on top black on botton i do the lightest color first then the dark color..not sure why but just separate the hair and do it however you think will work best

put the black on your hair how ever far down u want it wait till it takes than wash it out blow dry and than do the red see if you dye your hole heed black than put the red in it wont work i tried that with Burgundy and nothing took to the black because it's to dark,man your mom's gonna kill ya,lol

i would first dye my hair all red.
then take the upper section and just dye that black. have a friend do it that you trust so its easier.
