We are 'free' to choose not to do what we are told, but will roast for it.

An omnipotent God cannot create a morally free person incapable of choosing to do evil. God therefore must create us with the potential to sin.
Yet God, as a perfect moral authority, has revealed to us the righteous ways to live. It is within our own powers to walk this righteous path.
God, also through his foreknowledge, knows that mankind will stumble. So God has established a means, through the atoning sacrifice of Christ, for us to be made righteous in His eyes.
Choose well, then.

I wonder where you got this doubt.
Free will, or volition, gives you option to act out of your own choice, not by pre-determinated sequence. It does not mean that you are actually EMPOWERED to do so, or you are in position to know WHAT to act out.
Guidance by others is an essential part of survival process, as everyone needs someone else to help out from some situations. It does NOT negate your free will.

The meaning of free will is free thinking or free understanding. There is big difference between free will and free doing. Why did you combined thinking free and doing free in your question. analyze your sentences please. wrong question. You should be corrected.

Totally confusing question.
We can be told what to do, but we have the free will to decide not to do what we are told. If we don't do what we are told, we are free to accept the consequences for going against God's will for us.

I think we all need guidelines and structure or there is constant chaos. I think we should all have free will and we all do. So.... the choices that we make are greatly impacting our futures. It is our choice. Free will is a good thing.

Being told what to do has nothing really to do with your choice to follow or not.
You are free to do as you are told...or do something else entirely - that is what freewill is.

Who cares whether I answer the question or not? YA gives me 2 points, but do I gain any points toward heaven?

Certainly. How are you to determine what is right and wrong if you are not told what to do? You still have a choice, so go figure huh?

No one can take your free will away from you. You have to be the one to give it up yourself.
