My son will be four next month. He has been potty trained for over a year now, but he still doesn't know how to wipe his own butt. I bought him his own box of wipes to sit on the back of the toilet, but that doesn't help. He wipes his butt cheek, not his crack. I've tried explaining it to him, but it doesn't work.

He goes to school now and he has to yell for the teacher to come in and wipe him.

Please help!

LOL...I have the same situation with my 4 year old. Wipes her cheek and thinks she's getting the job done :o) She gets mad sometimes when I go to "check" to see if she's all clean. Its a constant battle I've tried helping her..she holds the wipe and I guide her hand. When that's all said and done,I wipe her again.

I even have twins,, the female grow to be wiping ok at age 5 - the boy mandatory help by way of age 6.5,,, you need to push him to do it on my own, yet a 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old will possibly no longer wipe 'nicely' and that ought to bring about leftovers and a rash, and so on.. It seems such as you're helping and not doing it for him - so permit or no longer that's. the place is the undertaking... why stress the infants only using fact its no longer handy so which you will consistently help,,, its a discomfort, i comprehend - yet thats portion of the whole parenting deal.

This is totally normal!!! My daughter is four and a half and she just learned how to wipe it (and let me tell you she doesn't always do a great job!). The only thing you can really do is show him the proper way to do it and face the fact that he may just want Mama to help him out. It may sound strange, but one of these days you're going to think back on the days when your little man wanted you to wipe his butt for him. Kids grow up so quickly and pretty soon he's going to be wanting to do everything for himself. Just roll with it, because it's just a phase that will quickly pass.

LOL!!! I have to laugh at this one welcome to motherhood 101! my daughter is 7 and I hear MOM COME WIPE MY BUTT! and there she is butt in the air waiting, and yes I do it! I also ask who wipes your butt at school? I get the answer I don't poop at school! I sure hope she outgrows this soon! They actually have a commercial on TV with a kid yelling Mom I'm done! And when he goes to school they will not wipe him, they can't too many laws, they cannot even help the kids with their snaps. did you try those new wipes with the puppy on them? they have toilet paper you can play a game of have the puppy get that poop. I know some people that don't have kids might say gross but come on all of you moms how many of us have actually clapped our hands when our little ones make a poopy in the potty?

I'm having the same issue. My daugther will be 4 in June and I still wipe her bottom. I've done the exact same things with the wipes on the back of the toilet.

I've started letting her do it while I'm standing over her.

Just keep at it, they'll pick it up (hopefully) !!! LOL !!

Good luck.

Awww....Maybe he feels embarressed to ask the teacher... but have his father show him. And tell him that if he wants to be a big boy than he has to wipe his bum! For his father: Tell your son that his bum crack needs to be clean so that when he goes over to his friends house..That they don't want a stinky bum in there house!! Also talk to his teacher about this. Get the kaboose wipes and special foam soap..(Like super-man ,batman...ect.) Then after he is done He can wash his hands with his super special soap! Do a little reward system if needed.

Im guessing he goes to some kinda daycare since the teacher wipes him...lol. Just show him. Take him in the bathroom and work with him until he can do it. Make him show you...

probable, if you sit him down one day one on one and teach him he would get used to it and start doing it more often, but if that dont work, you may always politely grab his hand and let him do it his self every time, he calls you.
