I mean how much i can save for paying my tax if i claim one dependent. for example, if i suppose pay $4000 for tax but how much it would be if i claim one dependent?

Each dependency exemption is worth $3,300 for 2006 or $3,400 for 2007. It reduces your taxable income. The tax impact of that reduction depends upon your tax bracket -- anything from $0 to $1,155 (2006) or $1,194 (2007).
