First of all I am tired of people saying that the bible is not current and outdated. It's not. The same things are going on in this time we live in as they did then. In every chapter you can relate something with the "current times." It's like reading the headlines of the newspapers.

I consider my self a believer in god. I do not profess to know everything about religion but I do have some common sense about me. It is not our place to condemn someones sins. I believe that we will all (believers and non-believers) stand before God in judgement to answer for our sins. I just happen to have a moral conscious about the place where I will be spending eternity. Gay people are human beings too. My daughter is gay and I would never turn my back on her. She knows that I love her very much and I accept her as she is. It bothers me, but I pray everday for strength and wisdom. When it comes right down to it that's all anyone can do about anything. Put it in God's hands!

Good question. Those churches who accept homosexuality are part of the false religion. That's the only explanation.

Our Creator established rules governing marriage long before governments began regulating the institution. The opening book of the Bible tells us: “A man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24) The Hebrew word “wife,” according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words, “connotes one who is a female human being.” Jesus confirmed that those yoked together in marriage should be “male and female.”—Matthew 19:4.

Thus, God intended marriage to be a permanent and an intimate bond between a man and a woman. Men and women are designed to complement each other so they may be capable of satisfying each other’s emotional, spiritual, and sexual needs and desires.

The well-known Biblical account of Sodom and Gomorrah reveals God’s feelings about homosexuality. God declared: “The cry of complaint about Sodom and Gomorrah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy.” (Genesis 18:20) The extent of their sinful depravity at that time was apparent when two guests visited the righteous man Lot. “The men of Sodom . . . surrounded the house, from boy to old man, all the people in one mob. And they kept calling out to Lot and saying to him: ‘Where are the men who came in to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have intercourse with them.’” (Genesis 19:4, 5) The Bible says: “The men of Sodom were bad and were gross sinners against Jehovah.”—Genesis 13:13.

The men became “violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males.” (Romans 1:27) They had “gone out after flesh for unnatural use.” (Jude 7) In countries where homosexual rights campaigns are pervasive, some may object to using the word “unnatural” to describe homosexual behavior. However, is not God the final arbiter when it comes to nature? He commanded his ancient people: “You must not lie down with a male the same as you lie down with a woman. It is a detestable thing.”— Leviticus 18:22.

I'm not into men kissing men, and gay pride and all that, but you are not God. If you're a true Christian, than pray for every homosexual's soal, and don't condem them.

Judging Others
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured unto you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brothers eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, "Let me take the take the speck out of your eye; when all the time there is a speck in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

Do you realize how many people commit suicide over feeling guilty about being gay because they do love Jesus and grew up in a Christian home and do love Jesus? The God I know is a forgiving God. And I think it's crucial that homosexuals can find churches to do to that they feel welcome in and loved anyway. God wants us all to reach out to him. Gay or straight, we are all gods children. A lot of people become homosexual because of molestation from the opposite sex, or emotional abuse, and rape. If we welcome them into our churches, they may be able to get past that by listening to lectures, getting prayed for, and being excepted. Sometimes, through prayer and support from the church and other christans, they can be healed from this, and may be able to become straight. There is no limit to what The Holy Spirit can do. A sin is a sin, and you judging them as just as sinful as homosexuality. I hope you can change your heart.

Who said anyone is covering up anything? You have the right to believe what you like, and so does everyone else. Not all religions condemn homosexuality, and I know a lot of homosexuals that are more spiritual and humane then most bible thumpers I know.

A squeaky wheel always gets the most grease, homosexuality has always been kept in the closet, it is the bleeding hearts support that has escalated homosexuality in today's world, some religions have embraced homosexuality and praises it's sexual perversion, homosexuality has infiltrated societies governments, education, and all other social institutions, it is unfortunate that government, religion, and the "MEDIA" run and controlled by Satan himself are bringing down society with moral decay, God help us all!.

It is a sin and Christians should not tolerate it. However, if we are truly folling Christ we will realize that even the homosexual deserves compassion. We can't change them at all, but should rely on God to change them. We should live our lives as an example to them. Gently lead them into truth. Not embrace their life style nor turn a blind eye. We should compassionately show them the way.

They tolerate homosexuality because they are false prophets with false doctrine.

Billy Graham said "If God doesn't judge America He will have to resurrect Sodom and Gomorrah and apologize to them."
God destroyed those two cities for homosexuality and violence which God considered pure wickedness. To support or condone homosexuality is the same as supporting and condoning murderers, thieves, adulterers, idol worshipers, drug dealers and users, bar owners and drunks and pornography. Sin is sin and we are not to call evil good.
It is true that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but we are to be purifying and refining ourselves as we get closer to Jesus. What we tolerate will increase.

I'm sorry, but I don't take a book seriously that was written by a bunch of primitives over 2000 years ago who thought illness was caused by demons and didn't know enough to keep their own excrement out of their food. And I don't take someone seriously who still lives by and considers primitive thinking to be intelligent life rules.

And worry about your own sins and not so much the sins of others. It's not your place to decide who should be "tolerated" or "not tolerated."

The Bible condemns ALL sin and it ALSO says that we are ALL sinners. Homosexuality is only one of those.

Contrary to what you said," It is sin you cant cover it up with god?" Yes you can. In fact, 'cover' is exactly what it is. Christ is our covering. You need to get into the Old Testament in order to get a good understanding of what the 'covering' was represented by. The lid on the Ark of the Conventant, for instance.

If a homosexual trusts God through Jesus Christ, he is saved just as much as anyone else. It doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks about it, it's what God provided that matters.

I don't think many religions tolerate it. The largest Christian religion (Catholicism) does not, the Episcopal church is facing a schism over it. Most of the Bible Churches I've ever seen, do not tolerate it. Even the non-Christian, such as Muslim do not tolerate it.
