I have psoriatic arthritis and my knee is extremely swollen to the point of having no visible knee cap. The pain has also spread to the calf. Should I go have it looked at or just wait and see if the swelling goes down itself.

that or use some ice cold pads, or a bag of frozen veggies, to decrease the swelling n see if that helps

If your doctor didn't say that anything like this would happen with psoriatic arthritis then you need to go see your doctor! While you are waiting... use ice packs or like frozen peas or corn and that should help it a little but you should really see what is going on.

You probably have a lot of fluid in your knee as a result of the inflammatory psoriatic arthritis. You need to see a doctor-you may need to get the fluid out to relieve the discomfort you are experiencing. Go ASAP.

If it is that swollen, you should have it seen. Unless your doctor has warned you about this specifically and suggested that you should expect this- I'd view it as a clear signal that something is wrong. Such significant swelling could suggest that something else is going on as well.

You should have visited the doctor YESTERDAY. Leave your house now, don't look at your computer screen any more.
