I know the prices are higher during prom. I'm about to pay $600 for 5 hours and I'm going to make the down payment today, a sum of $300. Am I being over charged?

As the first reply indicated, location plays a key role. But $600 for 5 hours is steep, IMO. I'm in the Metro Detroit area and you can rent a limo for $250 for 3 hours. The average is about $300 for 3 hours, which is a minimum. You cannot usually rent for less than 3 hours unless you have an account, which of course, is usually for businesses. Therefore, this is why many students attending the prom will share the ride as well as the expenses.

If you think you are, don't rent it. Prices vary according to location, which you neglected to mention.
