wow... bullimia just kind of shows how desperate you are. it's not going to make you pretty. in fact, your teeth will rot. a good friend of mine from high school (she weighed almost 200 lbs. and was 5'8") had a problem similar to yours... she started binging and purging, and sure enough she lost weight. HOWEVER, once she got down to 115 (which was ridiculously thin and looked very unnatural) she was ready to stop... but found her body would not let her. it only took six months before bullimia claimed her life. she died at seventeen.
despite all of us telling her to stop with the throwing up (her breath ALWAYS smelled horrible... no gum helped) she had her mind set on what she wanted. she told us all the time that once she got thin enough, she'd stop. too bad she didn't know that it's an addiction.
as far as bullimia goes, you might as well become a meth addict. :-/
try a fitness program. if you're still in school, participate in the P.E. classes... if you're already out of those, then sign up for an elective that involves physical activity. another tip is stop drinking soda. did you know that if you cut out soda, you can lose 45 lbs. in a year?! stay away from fast food, as well. try to eat healthy, and often. the more you eat, the faster your system will digest, and the fewer carbs and fat your body will store.
STAY ACTIVE! :)
good luck to you!

Oh boy. First of all, yes you are overweight.

Second of all, bulimia works in the beginning but after a few months you stop losing weight. I know this sadly from experience. That's why bulimics are rarely thin; they just stay the same. It's actually easier to just eat healthy and join a gym and go there every night. I'm only 25 and after struggling with bulimia, I've had 4 root canals (teeth were perfect before that) and 4 crowns, which totaled over $6,000, 2 heart attacks, a stroke, bleeding ulcers (imagine how you'll feel one day when you're throwing up and see a toilet full of blood), and lots of other stuff. And I didn't even lose that much weight.

So get yourself to the gym, do a fast walk/run on the treadmill for 40 minutes and then watch your calories and the weight will just fly off.

First of all, Bullemia is a quick fix. Not only is it bad for you, it causes a lot of problems between your family and friends. It can cause extensive damage to your internal organs. (the acid in your stomach eats away the wall of your esophagus as it comes up all the time). It can kill you. So you could be a skinny dead girl if you aren't careful. Think about the future on this? I had a friend in high school who almost killled herself from bullemia. She passed out and was hospitalized for weeks and then spent years in counseling? Do you have the time for that? And she didn't look good, she thought she did, but she looked absolutely awful. She has even passed this habit to her child. (No parent should want that for their child) Your body actually retains most of the fat from the food anyway. So really it does no good. Your body just attacks you. And when you start eating again. You'll gain all of it back really quick because your body will be starving. Just some personal advice...Join Weight Watchers. I have been on it for 2 weeks now and I've lost 7 pounds. You eat whatever you want, however you just watch your portions. It's very easy and very rewarding. I do it all online and I don't have to go to any meetings or anything. So it doesn't interfere with my life. I hope this helps and I hope you make the right choice. Good Luck.

I probably wouldn't even consider 160 FAT at 5 feet 5. In light of what you are DOING to yourself, which is purging, really, NOTHING except extremely OBESE seems fat! I know for a fact you can deplete your electrolytes and definitely have a heart attack in this manner from purging.
PLEASE seek professional help. The folks on here are all concerned, which is great--we should be! I am heavy, but I have been walking (I usually do a mile or 2 miles at a time when I walk). I do yoga and I have joined a gym for strength training (weightlifting). I feel good! It's probably not going to come off REAL FAST, but who cares? What's important is nourishing your body. You NEED your vitamins, antioxidants,
proteins, carbs AND fats (they keep saying Olive Oil is one of the best). I went through the experience of having bulimia when I was about 25, but only because of gallbladder disease (and it took a while for physicians to diagnose) which causes pain and pressure under the rib cage and is AWFUL. You can't digest! Anyway, it was the experience from you-know-where. I'm so grateful I can eat these days (yup, had to have that sucker taken out!). Bless you and get healthy, okay? It's no fun to make friends with a toilet and/or bucket and clog drains.....sigh. Plus, your heart and your esophagus and your teeth will thank you if you quit!

oh dearie, these days i understand that there are a lot more pressures in this world to be thin, but you really need to stop this right now, and figure out why you would choose this horrible route to lose weight. I've probably mentioned this a few too many times on here, but I've been suffering with bulimia/anorexia for 10+ years and in terms of this illness its been a living hell full of depression, obsession and anxiety. I'm in my mid twenties and I've suffered all sorts of health complications. What's worse is that I've lost good friends and people's trust along the way. But really there's just some kind of anguish at the root of all eating disorders, where you can reach your goal weight and and still feel empty and miserable.

Please seek out some form of therapy or counseling. You can still continue to get in shape using a safer method. It's just crucial that you stop this and get help now, because "without treatment, this 'binge and purge' cycle can lead to serious, long-term health problems. Acid in the mouth from vomiting can cause tooth decay, gum disease, and loss of tooth enamel. Any type of purging can lead to bone thinning (osteoporosis), kidney damage, heart problems, or even death."

For one, your not fat! I'm 5'2" and 150. I would like to loose a few pounds in the stomach, but not much.

If you go down to 100 lbs, you will be extremely unhealthy and underweight.

Also the people around you are right to keep fussing you for throwing up all the time. You are hurting yourself and you really don't need to be. Come to terms with how you are. If you really want to change, then do it properly through a well balanced diet (no throwing up!) and exercise.

No. 100 lbs. would be WAY too thin.

If you are bulimic, you need professional help. All that throwing up is putting a terrible strain on your heart. Bulimics die of heart failure all the time.

Get help immediately.

There are ways to get to an ideal weight without throwing up. One of the problems you will experience is the stomach acid dissolves your teeth enamel.
You need help to get both situations under control. Talk to your parents if you are under 18 and then to a doctor that will help you.

I agree with aout she is very right. I'm 5'3" & I weigh 139lbs. & I used to weigh from 165 - 150. I also would like to drop a few pounds. You don't have to make your self throw up to lose weight that is really really unhealthy for you all you need to do is exercise more, eat more healthy foods & less foods with lots of fat & suger. Try not to eat a lot of fried foods try to eat more boiled foods & try not to use alot of salt when you cook. Try to use Splenda instead of regular sugar.

do you know what harm you are doing to yourself, you are not fat, speak to your doctor, but 100 pounds is far to light for your height. Your doctor will tell you what your weight should be for your height,.

You really need to stop making yourself sick, so go to the doctor. I'm 5'1 and my weight for me should be about 9-9.5 stone, (14lbs to the stone), now I am heavier than you, I am FAT, you are just slightly over weight.
