Well, if you think about it, that is all vegans would eat, apart from coffee, tea, bread and sugar (which is found naturally in fruit anyway), so an indefinate amount of time as long as you're sensible about it.

you can go on a fruit and veg diet and loose weight but you can only stay on it for 10 days then you go back on your regular food for 2 weeks then start all over again. BUT the best way to detox is to drink 2 liters of water a day.

I recently read that you should do a fruit only diet for any more than 8 to 10 days as it can cause damage to some of your organs.
The best idea is to ask your doctor or local health clinic for a detox diet sheet, most have them plus they will be able to tell you if it is harmful to you - they know your medical history

The whole concept of detox is an urban myth. Medically there ain't no such animal. Sure fruit and veg is good for you, but that is where it ends. There in no science behind the concept.

I would say yes. My recent viral infection of the lower intestine's caused me to eat only fruits and vegetables. I was on this diet for 3 weeks to a month I lost 20 lbs. but the best part is I cleansed my systemm too. You would not beleive the crap coming out of my body and by the 3rd. week I felt like a whole new person. You will want to eat nuts also, like almonds etc... for proteins. Try it !!!
