Yes, but make sure your hairstylist (or yourself) leaves the color on longer at the base/roots of hair and then applies to dry ends towards the end of processing. Then after coloring, trim the ends.

before you color your hair, you should trim it. Then when you color it, try going darker instead of lighter since it causes less damage to your hair.

I died my natural chestnut brown hair blonde once and the ends started splitting like crazy because I had gotten it bleached which stripped my hair of its color as well as its natural oils. Go darker or just a few shades lighter to avoid serious damage

No its more likely to be damaged severely... What you should do is get 3 mths of deep conditioning each time you wash your hair, clip those ends and then do the coloring.. BUT you must always deep condition.

you should trim your hair first to get rid of the split ends but if you just color it you'll still have the split ends

If your hair is damaged, colouring it will only damage it further. Wait until your hair recovers before subjecting it to any form of chemical treatment.

i have some serious split end prob and i color my hair but i go the the saloon about every two weeks to get them treated you have to take care of them
