Good one! If the Romans hadn't crucified Jesus, Christians would still be accountable for their own sins and have to face their maker face-to-face without an intermediary just like us Jews!

no at all, it was no surprise that the God of the Jews loved and gave the Gentiles opportunity to have a relationship with him. As a matter of fact there are two Gentile women in the geneaology of Jesus (Rahab the former harlot from Jericho, and Ruth the Moabite great grandmother of David). Gentiles were given opportunity in the system of Judiasm, but they had to come through Judiasm. The Christianity found in the New Testament explains that after the rejection of Jesus by the Jews God turned his focus toward Gentiles. That is not to say that God doesn't love the jews, just as in the Old Testament all have opportunity to have a relationship with God. The only things that have changed are the expressions of the required faith, and the people who most often hold that faith.

No. There was actually room for gentile converts in the Law.
You have to remember that many Jewish people HAVE accepted Jesus as the Messiah. In fact, my pastor is Jewish & I know of many many Jewish people that are also Christian.
www.jewsforjesus.com is one segment of the population that believes as such.

Edit 1-
The Old Testament (Isaiah 53) talks about how the Messiah would be rejected by his own people. It also mentions the crucifixion process (which didn't even exist back then).
However, the OT also talks about the governmental rule of Christ-which hasn't happened yet.
Lastly, it mentions, '"they will look upon the one they have pierced & mourn." Zechariah 12:10-14 (which, by the way, is one of the last books in the Old Testament).

Hey, look it up and tell me what you think. I would be interested in getting your feedback! Email me or something.

No, the purpose of God and Jesus is not get anyone "screwed." The Israelites will actually be used by God in the future to bring blessings to the Gentiles.

If they Jews had accepted Jesus, then they would be Christians, or as you put it, Gentiles and according to the Bible, they would not be screwed. Of course they might be viewed as "screwed" by people who remained Jewish or who believe their religion is the only way to get to Heaven. We'll have to wait and see which of us are in trouble.

I don't really get what you mean.

Jesus was a learned Jew- they didn't reject him BUT they didn't accept him as their messiah.

I thought christianity was about the teachings rather than the relationship with the Jewish people.

It does seem that way. If they'd accepted him then he wouldn't have been executed and there would be no access to heaven (In Christian lore). So yes, we would have been screwed because eventually the Jews would have regained control and started slaughtering their way back to the promised land.

No because not even the jews are left out. John 3:16 says it all.
