An au-pair is usually a young person who wants to live abroad (with a goal of learning a language). He/she gets free room and board, pocket money (about 60 pounds a week), for up to 35 hours of work a week - including baby sitting and some house cleaning. In many cases they end up working a lot more than that - but there are also decent jobs. There are age limits (18 to 28 in the UK I think) and a work permit is necessary if one come from outside the EU.

In your case, you are too young... not only by law, but also to be able to provide reliable and responsible help to a family with young children. You see, it is a job - not a free vacation! you would also be away from your family, and that can be hard. By the time you'll be out of school, you may want to give it a try, for a few months. some like it.

You have already found out that you are too young for the responsibility an aupair has to assume. Try to get some part time work in UK tutoring young children maybe with their school subjects they are weak in, that way you will also enjoy being in the UK & learn more about the responsibilities of children in case you still want to be an aupair later.

you are far to young.don't trust anyone that will try to take you on.your naivety stands out, stay home and do some work on child care, when your older you will be qualified and more able to deal with such a big step.no offense meant.
