tc381mc says, "Jesus was not married nor did HE have children. Us true believers know this."
My response: Don't you think such assertion is a bit arrogant? You may believe it, but you certainly don't KNOW it. Knowledge and belief isn't the same thing.
----
tc381mc says, "People will always try to demean Him but as you will see never get solid proof"
My Response: Why do you think that my comments are demeaning? Can YOU get solid proof of what you're asserting? No? Then why are you demanding it of those whom you disagree with?

It doesn't.
If Jesus wasn't truly a human, then His sacrifice is a pointless cosmic shell-game.
Modern Christians prefer to believe that Jesus was purely divine--something that Jesus never claimed and was never accepted until 300 years after his death.
Jesus was human while on earth (whether he was the Son of God or not) and there's no reason to believe that he didn't experience all the things that humans do, including love and desire.
edit:
If Jesus is married to the Church, and the Church is almost exclusively male, doesn't that make it a gay marriage? A polygamous gay marriage at that....

Jesus was not married nor did He have children. Us true believers know this. People will always try to demean Him but as you will see can never get solid proof. This "found Jesus' bones" theory is of no concern to me either. He rose from the grave and left nothing but His burial clothes.
I didn't know how else to reply to you except by modifying my answer. I believe that if Jesus were married, especially if He had had children it would have been written, like all the other descendants. I wasn't in any way trying to be arrogant. I don't like to argue about the word of God. I believe the prophecy that the Bible talks about concerning the Son of God and think Him being married or having children would have been a contradiction to that. I did NOT mean your question was demeaning Him. I was talking about all this media stuff and the movies with suggestions that try to disprove that Jesus was a perfect man. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. You're question is a very good one, but we will know the true answer one day. God Bless

Because, that would go against the teachings in the Bible and challenge the age-old Christian belief of Christ's "celibacy" before he was crucified to bear the sins of the world.
I do not believe that Jesus Christ was married or that he had an offspring. Why would the Gospels (i.e. Mark, Matthew, Luke, John) omit such an important bit of history/fact about Jesus?

Yes, it totally matters. Shame on those Christians that say otherwise. Christ had to be the spotless sacrifice for the sin of mankind. If you understand anything about the old testament law then you would understand that a lamb had to be without blemish for a sacrifice. Jesus would have been considered unclean and blemished if he was married. Not that is it wrong to be married but it would not have allowed him to be the spotless sacrifice, thus making him not acceptable for the sacrfice of mankind. That would mean we have no forgiveness for our sins because He wasn't a worthy sacrifice.

If Jesus was married the Bible would have recorded it. It matters if it is said that Jesus was married when He was not because it is a lie against the very word of God. It gives room for people to speculate that the Bible's record of Jesus' life is not complete whereas the truth is that everything that God wants us to know about Jesus is all recorded in the Bible.

It doesn't matter. His message and saving powers are NOT CHANGED by his maritial status. But the Bible doesn't say he was, and it doesn't say he wasn't. It's a non-issue.
People just want to get Christians all stirred up by making some outrageous claim about Jesus. Same thing with this "we found Jesus' tomb!" thing. Unfortunately it works.

Because He didn't lie and He never mentioned He was married....and if so why didn't He give his "wife" to someone to care for when He was on the cross like He did for his mother. And why haven't we heard about a wife saying why are you spending time with those 12 men and not me. Yes, it would diminish His message because He spent His time preparing His disciples to be the leaders and to spread His message when the Holy Spirit empowered them. He didn't have time for a wife. (He was to busy training the disciples)
People use Him having a wife to try and make Him less God and more human...He is 100% God and 100% man.

If Jesus was Jewish and his family adhere to Torah and all it's teachings.
According to traditions his father would have procured him a wife and he would of married. One of the first commandments given according to Torah is be fruitful and multiply. And it is a BIG BIG Mitzvoh to have sex on shabbat.
For Jesus to have never transgressed the Torah(which by the way is his claim to fame) he would of married.

Here's all that really matters:
God existed
God Created mankind
Mankind sinned
God sent Christ to forgive mankind
Christ gave his life as a sacrifice
Man accepts this sacrifice
Man gets saved
Man spends eternity in heaven

It matters because the truth is that Jesus was not married.
Saying He was married is a lie.
So a person who says Jesus was married tells a lie, which is a violation of one God's commandments.... that is a sin.
