what did you find out and what did you do about it?

Yes - I used to read my ex-boyfriend's text messages. This was only because I caught him cheating on me and didn't trust him and stupidly stayed with him. I used to find girl's mobile numbers added to his contacts list and text messages from a few girls as well. Once, he caught me doing it and had a go at me (although he did understand why i was doing it). I explained that I was going through it to see if he was seeing anyone else, to which he said "I never go through your phone!". I said, "That's because you don't CARE if I'm seeing anyone else!!". He couldn't say anything to that! We finished soon after and now he's with someone else and has had a baby with her, and I've heard he's lying and cheating on her as well! NEVER AGAIN will I put up with that!

P[roblem is when you go sniffing around in personal stuff from your partner, like text messages etc, you show a) That you dont trust them, and b) You will find somthing that you dont like that could have been nothing but you will blow it up right out of proportion and then have the dilemma about how you brouche the subject. If you come right out with it your partner will know what you have been doing and not be happy at the lack of trust. A female freind of mine went through her B/F mobile and found some rather suggestive text messages, she hit the roof, when the B/F explained and proved that this was not what she thought she saw how silly she was, however he was hurt at the lack of trust and shortly after ended it....! All I can say is think long and hard, would you like it if you found out your partner had been going through private things of yours?

No - but I did get curious a couple of times when he got a txt on his mobile, 1st time it was about 12.00 am and I was stopping over - he said it was from his nutty friend saying she couldn't sleep! he didn't reply, the 2nd time was early in the morning between 7 & 8 am, he picked up his phone and said it was probably from his mum, looked said oh its not but never said who it was from.

It does annoy me when this sort of thing happens and he doesn't give any indications, but I just choose to ignore it - lifes too short to worry about silly little things.

I havent personally as Id consider it an invasion of privacy.. but my mate did - only this weekend in fact - she went through his mobile phone to find quite a few flirty texts - shes now in a right mess as she cant ask him about this girl and the texts without admitting shes been going through his mobile!!

You should read each others diary. You should be truthful and frank with each other. If you try to hide things from each other, you are not in a healthy relationship !

I once went thru an ex's txt msgs. had a suspicion he was cheating on me, and was proved right! also got into his emails and found msgs from at least 2 other girls he was arranging to meet up with. eventually finished with him, after sleeping with his best mate!!

yes i loged onto my boyfriends emails as i knew all his personal details like dob etc. i found out hed cheated on me 3 times with girls hed met on the internet! i jus think if i hadnt read them i wud never of known so im glad i did.

i found out he was banging a 15yr old behind my back (he was 20). i cried, threw up, then went out and cheated on him myself. i couldnt tell him tho because i'd been sneaky. it killed me to not say anything and i ended up finishing with him.
