Could be a tension headache, perhaps because you're subconsciously fearing another migraine. If paracetamol doesn't do the trick, might be worthwhile checking with your GP, if only to set your mind at rest.

from what you've said, your migraine sounds normal, the blurred vision, splitting headache and extreme nausea are common symptons of a migraine in my experiene (i get them as well), usually, i only get the blurred vision, splitting headache and extreme nausea but there have been one or two where my hand went partially numb and my speech was affected the best cure ive found is to spend a few hours in a dark room (i become sensitive when i get a migraine) and wait it out, also, if you can, try and sleep it off, not always possible, but hopefully you feel a lot better when you wake up my head is still a bit sensitive for a while (can be a coupke of days) after ive had a migraine you're right to speak to optician/doctor about it if you are worried, to be honest, i would have suggested that as well, (just to be on the safe side) one thing you could try and do is figure out what triggers your migraines, i have a controlled diet to prevent me from getting one (and so far, it worked, things like too much caffeine, chocolate (small amounts ok, but dark chocolate and belgian i dont touch), cheese as well (i have very little these days and i dont touch mature cheddar) Can i also just say, this migraine seems to have really worried you, i dont blame you, first time i had a migraine (was in the middle of a shop at the time) i started panicking because i had no idea what a migraine was or what was happening to me, and i got all the symptoms one after the other Hope this helps (sorry for my little novel lol), hope you feel better soon, enjoy the festive holiday

No, after a migrain you would be likely to still feel a little residual pain in the side of your head where the headache was for a day after but not for 10 days after. You should see your family doctor because there are triggers for migrains that he can have you avoid, such as certain foods. He has a list of them. He can also give you medicine for them and in some cases you can get medicine to stop a migrain before you get it or shorten the duration. The sooner you see him the better.

I have had migraines since I was a child. Got lots of experience with those mean things. Usually, it may start as pain going across your forehead, then going to one side. Mine always goes to the left side. You may have pain at the bottom of your neck, one or both sides. Sensitivity to light and noise really bother you. Lying down in a cool dark, quite room usually helps. Most people say to take Advil or Motrin, but I seem to get a tiny bit of relief with Tylenol, aspirin and caffiene. Most of the time, most people can sleep it away. But I know what you mean by "if feels like it may come back" and the soreness. I wouldn't wish a migraine on anyone.

Is it possible that it is congestion. Try taking a decongestant, steam & olbas oil & if it eases you know the cause. If it doesn't ease go to the docs, just to check up.

I agree with Nurse Gable. Abnormal headaches are not normal. Until proven otherwise, this should be taken very seriously.

it's not normal for you obviously - go see your gp. i have similar symptoms at times of high stress + lack of sleep like at exam times etc. but if it's not normal for you, even if you are at a period of high stress, just get checked to be sure.
