She says its time to move on, and that she just wants to be friends. The question is, should I agree to just be friends, or would it not be better just to cut off all communications with her? How can I be just friends with someone that I was so close to and in love with? Would it not just prolong the pain that I'm feeling now?

Friends never work out too well...its just a girls nice way of breaking up....to make it less stressful. But, just go on.....you have another adventure in life awaiting you! It could be a really fun one! Better than the one you just had! There may be some bumps along the way....but life goes on! Make the best of everything. Lifes too short to waste time being angry or depressed! Get out in the world...its a great one!! Enjoy your life to the fullest, you only get one!! Good luck....
p.s. It will prob hurt for a while, but with time that will go away! Just surround yourself with people that love and care about you to help the pain! Soon you will be back to yourself! There was life before her and there will be life after!

You have to let go all together, as trying to be friends will only prolong the pain, and you will have to give up eventually
it is hard to start again, but don,t sit home and wallow about it . get out and socalise as being home will make it worse
even if you go out and find you have to go home early , you have made the effort, just remember the saying , there are always plenty of fish in the sea. you might not think it now but in time you will heal and find someone new

Make a clean cut, people just say they want to be friends to make it easier. The quicker the better, if she is ready to move on, you should do the same. Don't waste any more time with her you can go out now and find someone who really wants to be with you.

For your own peace of mind Let her go completely for now. Move on with your life and its very important to stay Buzy now so you do not have time to wonder what is going on with her. In time after the pain is no longer there, maybe you two can just be friends.

If you love her that much, I would cut off all communication. You yourself will have to move on and find a new woman, and when she is your friend and you still have feelings for her, it will be hard to find a new woman.

If you still love her, I would cut off all communications with her, b/c if you don't it is just gonna hurt you worst. Just be strong, which I know is hard to do, but it is for the best.

I think you should tell her that since you feel the way you do about her, that being friends with her would only make you feel worse, knowing that she would only have a platonic relationship with you then a physical one. Then, be apart. Go your separate ways and lose her phone number. When you ever do see her, just be cordial and say 'Hi' and 'Bye'.
