for a Rebel XTi 400D I recommend a CF card of 2Gbytes, Sandisk or Kingston, speed 150x. + Roots SLR case = a triangle shape case.

If you can afford it, I'd get a 2 gb CF card. It will hold a lot of high quality RAW images, and twice as many high quality jpegs, if you shoot that way. If you're concerned with speed go with the 'extreme' cards but for general purpose photography, I think almost any card will do.

Hi,
Go to B&H and look at Sandisk's 4 GB card. It's a great option and it's currently $70.00 with no rebates required.
Ot should hold almost 800 images on JPG's large and fine setting.
Hope this helps!

Best Buy will match B&H Photo's price, because they are a brick & mortar store. (At least, they did for me on a D80.)
I would suggest getting a SanDisk Extreme III card, not only for the speed, but also for the free image recovery program that comes with it. I just ordered one last week from B&H, and it had a $20 rebate.

I bought the XTI or EOS 400D on a IT show. Very good deal.
EOS 400D kit (body n 18-55 mm lens), 3 x 1gb of Extream II (CF II) cards, a Canon bag, tripod, n bought the 75-300 mm Canon zoom lens for S$269.

A high speed card would probably work best. One 64 or 100x. IT would allow faster transfers, especially of RAW files to and from the camera and to and from the computer.
