first you have to provide proof of vaccination at customs. within the last 12 months. germany will not allow cross bred, or fighting dogs into the country. type in" germany animal quarantine" into your search engine, it will provide the answers for you. the airlines will not make the dog ride cargo, but it will have to be in a proper kennel.

He's probably going to need further immunizations. Also, bring his records-his rabies shots etc. The matter of quarantine-no. That long an air trip for a dog is possible, but probably not the most comfortable.(It isn't comfortable for people either) Even if he rides in the plane, the air isn't that great after several hundred miles. I do hope your dog is a pure breed and you can prove it because Germany does not allow crossbreeds into their country.

germany does not require any kind of quarantine and it won't be required when flying back home either. what you will need is all the vaccines up to date (but your vet will be able to tell you that) and a certification signed by your vet that your dog is healthy and has all needed shots.
the airline will require the dog to be in a small crate for inboard travel, the total weight with the crate should not exceed 20 lbs I believe, but this varies for different airlines, so i'd check with the travel agency/airline to make sure.
remember to take a small bowl of water, but more to wet the tongue than to drink, since the obviouslyhe won't be able to go to the bathroom for the time of flight, so he shouldn't drink too mcuh either!
then last but not least, you might want to pack some Bach flower remedy drops, the calming "rescue" ones, you can find them at whole foods for example. just 1-2 drops of this on your pooch's tongue and he won't mind travelling at all! I use it with my dogs when travelling, not because they're really scared, but it just takes most of stress off of them!

The question is, will he have to go into Quarantine when you get him there. I moved from California to Hawaii one time, and they quarantined my Corgi for 6 weeks. Fear of rabies and parvo. You may want to look into that aspect of the move. Luck to you.

He might have to be quarentined for 3 weeks or so. Also I would never ever ever in my life fly a dog in cargo. That is just sick. The airport workers dont even care they just throw the crate around and probably about half the time the dogs die. i would look up airports that allow you to fly with your pet. i think United Airlines lets you fly with your dog in a crate with you. Please dont fly your dog cargo. Its wrong. When people do that it makes me want to punch them. It just makes me sick. Good luck and please dont fly your dog coach. even since he is a pug nose that is even wayyyy more dangerous.

they're able to fly yet reckoning on the quarantine provisions then it does no longer be nicely worth it. i do no longer think of of there'd be any tbh. I flew my canines from Scotland to New Zealand yet we've been living there. It fee plenty in spite of the essential actuality that.
