Well, your return was accepted, so that's good. You have filed. Now if you think you did it wrong, take your return to a commercial preparer and they will review your return for free and tell you if you left money on the table.

Of course they hope they find money for you and you pay them to amend the return. But you are not obligated to pay them anything, and you may find out that you did your return just fine.

That's great your tax return has been accepted! So far, you must of entered all your info correctly so now you just have to wait and see the status of your return. You can check it here on the IRS Where's My Refund page:

https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp

It will also tell you when to expect your refund. Since it's been 6 days, it may not be much longer.

That is great you did your own taxes! Once you do it online the first time, you never want to go back and paper file again. It's so much easier since they prompt you each step of the way (I used H & R Block) and you get your refund so much sooner if you use direct deposit.

The first time I did my taxes alone, it took me a month. I read everything. After that, it does get easier. You'll start to recognize things. Just be honest and thorough. I've made mistakes both in my favor and not in my favor. The IRS corrects and explains the correction. If you're an HONEST person, don't worry about the IRS. People who hate the IRS are usually crooks, rationalizing their stinginess.
