Why on earth do I get these god awful cramps in my calves at four in the morning? They wake me from a dead sleep, then I have to jump out of bed and do a little dance to make it go away. I never had this problem untill my 6th month of pregnancy, I am now 8 1/2 months pregnant. What can I do????

You are not drinking enough water. It causes you to have cramps in you legs. Congratulations and I hope it gets better.

just wondering, are you a smoker? that will do it.
i rub an extra strength heat rub into my calves before i go to bed, it works for me but since i quit smoking i haven't had them as often, if I'm out shopping and wear heels, sometimes i will get them through the night, again i use the cream, another cause, for me, is thyroid medication, this causes cramps in the legs and for that the doctors give me Quinine capsules, everyone is totally different, so i suggest you talk it over with your own doctor, good luck on your pregnancy and may you have a safe delivery soon!!
